Top 5 Gameboy / Gameboy Advance games
Hello and welcome back to this week edition of Top 5. This week we'll be looking at the last Nintendo only column for a while as we look at Top 5 Gameboy / Gameboy Advance games.
Also this week there's no forum part so it'll be staff only.

5. Tetris
A great puzzle game and something that took up hours and hours of your time when it first came out. Very few puzzle games have even managed to get as good as this let alone better it.
4. The Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening
One of the true great games of all time and a fantastic conversion from the SNES classic. Even better is the inclusion of the excellent 4 Swords. Everyone should own this game.
3. Castlevania: Aria of Sorrow
My favourite Castlevania ever. It may not take long to finish the story but there's so much to see and find you're going to be at this game for a long time after the story is done.
2. Golden Sun 1 and 2
The best handheld RPG's ever and in many cases better then the console ones too. I've love to see Golden Sun 3 on the DS but until then these two will more then keep me happy.
1. Advance Wars 1 and 2
If you want a game that will last you ages these are for you. A lot of fun and a massive challenge these are some of the finest games ever made. Even if you own the DS game these are still must own games.
Hon mentions:
Super Mario Advance 3
It was great on the SNES and it's great here although it seems to loose something in changing to the small screen it's still one of the best 2D platform games ever made.
Pokemon games
Okay most of the GBA games are basically the same with a different color box but any of these will take you hours of time to complete and you'll enjoy yourself on the way. These games actually managed to convert me to like Pokemon. Not the cartoon or pokemon snap or anything. They're good but they're not miracle workers.
Yoshi's Island
The best 2D platform game ever made and it's still great on the GBA. Masses of stuff to find and play though and getting that 100% complete score will keep you up at night.

5. The Legend of Zelda: Minish Cap
Zelda just dominated the Gameboy with classic titles. This one was no exception. Combined elements from A Link to the Past and Windwaker. A sublime plot that gives a sneak peak into the Zelda legacy.
4. Mario Kart Advance
This was the closest thing (at the time) to the original SNES Mario Kart. Cool selection of characters and SNES style gameplay.
3. The Legend of Zelda: Oracles of Ages/Seasons
This was a well put together pair of games that was produced by both Nintendo & Capcom. They could be played separately or as one larger adventure. Good stuff.
2. The Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening
One of the best Zelda adventures to grace a console or handheld. Fun storyline with new elements. First Zelda game to feature fishing and included some memorable and familiar characters.
1. Tetris
This is the one that started it all for the handheld market.

5. Riveria: The Promised Land
An atypical RPG that was fun and had a well thought out story. Multiple paths opened up multiple play throughs for this gem.
4. Castlevania: Aria of Sorrow
Metroidvania at its portable best. Collecting all those pesky souls, and finding the secret ones, could take up hours of your time. Great, great game.
3. Metroid Zero Mission/ Metroid Fusion
Both games are equal in my book. They had atmosphere and great gameplay in spades. The graphics were amazing. Zero Mission even elaborated further on the Metroid games and Fusion was the final chapter in a great series (story wise).
2. Legend of Zelda: Links Awakening
This game shows that you don't have to have Zelda, the Tri-force, or even Ganon to have a great Zelda game.
1. Legend of Zelda: The Minish Cap
Just do yourself a favor and pick up this game.
Honourable Mentions
The Golden Sun series, Fire Emblem series, Legend of Zelda: Oracle of Ages/Seasons, any of the Pokemon games (c'mon You just gotta Catch 'em all)
Well there you have it as most are timeless classics no matter what system they're on. Next week we'll be looking at Top 5 Console Launch Games but before then feel free to send and feedback be it good or bad as well as your own Top 5.
