Fire Pro Wrestling Returns: Match Types
Posted by Ramon Aranda on 11.10.2007

Fire Pro Wrestling Returns Match Types

While some fans of wrestling video games will be looking forward to becoming more acquainted with the wrestling icons in the game, the fans of the Fire Pro series know they’ll be able to create whatever icons they wish with the insanely deep wrestler creator. More important is the low down on the match types and settings. The newest in the series will include an abundant list of match types paired with options to adjust the matches. With seven different match types, twenty-one customizable options, and over a hundred customizations to choose from, Fire Pro is indeed ‘Returning’ with a vengeance.

Normal Match type is the standard professional wrestling match. This match’s rule options include 3 Count, 2 Count, Fall Only and Give Up. The default rule for this match is 3 Count. The Over-The-Top option, where the wrestler is eliminated if tossed over the top rope, is available in Normal Match as well.

Cage Deathmatch has a ring that is enclosed in a wire cage. Rule options include 3 Count, 2 Count, Fall Only, Give Up and Escape. The default rule for this match is Escape. Weapons are also available in this type of match.

Barbed Wire Deathmatch has a ring that is surrounded by electric barbed wires instead of ropes. If a wrestler touches the wire, he or she will be subject to electric shock. Rule options include 3 Count, 2 Count, Fall Only and Give Up. The default rule for this match is 3 Count. Weapons can be made available. Periodic explosions in the entire ring is available as an option. This explosion will damage everyone inside the ring—even the referee.

Landmine Deathmatch has barbed wire placed just outside the ring for an extra sizzle effect when a wrestler is tossed out. Rule options include 3 Count, 2 Count, Fall Only and Give Up. The default rule for this match is 3 Count. Weapons are available in this match type. Optional barb wiring or fluorescent tubing can be placed in the corners of the ring for extra pain.

SWA Rules Match is the match with no disqualifications (DQs) for leaving the ring. Rule options include 3 Count, 2 Count, Fall Only and Give Up. The default rule is 3 Count. This is the ultimate free for all.
S-1 Rules Matches take place in a Normal Match setting ring. A bit like boxing, this match only allows direct hits between wrestlers—no grappling whatsoever. Wrestlers may initiate grapple, but may only continue onto a strike.

Gruesome Fighting Matches are one of a kind. Taking place in a 6-sided octagon with a wire fence surrounding this match type is Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) style. The only rule for this match is Give Up. There are no pins—only straight up knock outs or submissions.
