Warner Bros., TT Games, LEGO Group, Harmonix And MTV Games Announce LEGO Rock Band
Posted by John De Large on 04.21.2009

Warner Bros. and TT Games are teaming up with the LEGO Group, Harmonix and MTV Games to create what can only be described as a videogame franchise alliance of mythic proportions, with the creation of LEGO Rock Band. The game will allow players (with an emphasis on families) to "Build a Band and Rock The Universe," which will play like a world tour mode from the sound of it. Players will create avatars and play virtual venues, stadiums and more that the LEGO world offers. Players will also be able to customize their avatars, band and even an entourage, including roadies, managers and crew.

LEGO Rock Band will support all Rock Band instruments and other music game controllers.

Known songs include Blur's "Song 2," Carl Douglas's "Kung Fu Fighting," Europe's "Final Countdown," and much more.

LEGO Rock Band will be available for the Xbox 360, PLAYSTATION 3, Wii and Nintendo DS. All versions are scheduled for a 2009 holiday release.

Yes, please shit all over Harmonix for issuing a license to Traveller's Tales to make a Rock Band game where kids and parents don't have to worry about singing about a dying man pervertedly watching little girls or seeing female characters wearing nothing but a snake and a smile.

I'd love to know who's not even trying anymore.

No, no, no, no, NONONONONONONONONO.

Seriously, provided that this isn't a twenty-day-late April Fool's joke, then fuck the fatback who came up with a binding concept that will effectively spell a death-knell for TWO of the most popular "casual gaming" franchises in the market.

If they geared this towards kids, and featured childrens songs, I could see it working really well. use songs like Itsy bitsy spider and shit like that.
