Valve has announced details on the upcoming downloadable content for Left 4 Dead, a move to reassure fans that Left 4 Dead hasn't been abandoned due to the announcement of Left 4 Dead 2. The updates will include the promised team-based matchmaking update, and other updates will also arrive soon.
Many gamers were upset over the announcement of Left 4 Dead 2 so fast after the release of the original, with some promising to boycott the sequel. But Valse says they still plan to support the original.
"We plan to keep supporting Left 4 Dead 1. I think folks took our [E3] announcement [of Left 4 Dead 2] as a sign that we were dropping Left 4 Dead 1 and that's just not the case," said Valve's marketing VP Doug Lombardi.
