Resident Evil 5: Alternative Edition Coming This Spring
Posted by Scott J. Simpson on 09.26.2009

At the Tokyo Game Show Thursday, Resident Evil 5 producer Masachika Kawata announced that a new version of the game was currently in the works for the PlayStation 3 entitled Resident Evil 5: Alternative Edition.

The updated game, which is scheduled for a release in Japan this spring, will support the PS3's new motion controller and a new playable episode featuring Chris and Jill.

No word yet on how the game will utilize the PS3's motion controller (aiming?), but the new episode will allow players to take part in the flashback scenario from the original game in which Chris and Jill decided to take a tour of the Spencer estate.

There is also a chance the Alternative Edition will be finding its way to the Xbox 360, however Capcom did not confirm whether or not the game would utilize Project Natal.

So far, the game is only scheduled to be release in Japan, with no confirmation of a North American release.
