Wii Update Causing Issues

The Nintendo forums have gone wild with customers unable to use their Wii after upgrading to the 4.2 update. It's probably advisable to avoid the update for the time being.

nice dude, thanks for the info! i have cable connection so i connect online to my wii only for updates so that wouldve messed me up

funny, I updated mine at around 12:15 AM on 9/29 and is still works fine. Reads discs, powers on, workes exactly the same.

If you make it through the update process, you're in the clear. Apparently the issues crop up during the update itself.

I never update my wii is modded.

I updated mine last night. First try was unsuccessful, but I tried it again and it updated fine.

only homebrew wiis are affected. It boots up faster with update.

I bet the only ones messing up are the modded ones. HA!
