Failed Start for PSP Go in Australia

Sony’s latest handheld has had a poor start in the land down under.
With a little over 1000 units sold in the first week at a price point of AUD 450, one would not be surprised to hear that the Go did poorly. But high prices may not be the only thing contributing to the tanking sales. According to Game Industry, retailer EB Games refused to stock the console in Australia and even in the UK the handheld was greeted with a cold shoulder. Sony, on the other hand, felt that the sales were expected.
LMAO That's Sony for you. Always expecting, but never doing a damn thing to change it

If your expecting low sales why are you even putting it on the market?

I'm sure it'll move at least 3,000 units in the US.

What the hell is wrong with Sony? The streak of being clueless to your fans continues I see.

I live in Australia, and I never even knew this console existed until now.

Wow, they should have expected numbers like this selling at that price.
To make a comparison there's some places here where you can get a PS3 Slim for $450 AU, the official RRP of a PS3 here is only $50 more at $499 (usually with a free game).

Dick Smith Powerhouse Northmead only bothered to stock 2 PSP Go units. They didn't exactly disappear off the shelf in seconds either.
Worse, at the AUS$450-500 price range, you could get either a PS3 Slim or an XBox360 Elite.
