Miyamoto Talks Star Fox

Miyamoto says series sales decrease in Japan might mean a new take on the game.
The man known for creating Mario and Zelda, Shigeru Miyamoto, had a few things to say about the disappointment people have expressed about the recent Star Fox games.
"I'm a big fan of the 'Star Fox' games. Every time we make a 'Star Fox' game I'm hoping people will enjoy it as much as I do. Of course the goal every time is to try and make it more and more fun but, at least in Japan, the people that purchase the 'Star Fox' games has decreased over the years. But we still try to make them more fun and hopefully people will see the appeal in those games."
Maybe this means that since some of the higher-ups know about the perception of Star Fox now, they will be welcome to returning the series to its roots and keeping it above the ground permanently.
The series' sales are decreasing because the series' suck is increasing.

In my opinion, dogpound7382 is actually right, R Truth. There hasn't been a 9/10 deserving Starfox game since Starfox 64.
The Star Fox series is not quite in the same category of shit as the Crash Bandicoot games from developers not named Naughty Dog, but it has taken a dive.
