Analyst Predict Huge Fourth Quarter Sales For Modern Warfare 2
Posted by Jeffrey Harris on 11.02.2009

Jim Reilly of IGN.com reports that Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 is being predicted to sell a ton of copies. According to the article, Wedbush Morgan Securities analyst Michael Pachter informed investors that COD publisher, Activision, will be getting a lot of money from the sales of the sequel from Infinity Ward.

Pachter says, "We expect global sales to exceed $500 million in the first week following launch, and think that the company can easily sell 10 million units in Q4."

Halo 3, one of the biggest game launches of all time grossed $300 million. Video game retailer GameStop recently predicted that the sales of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 would possibly be one of the highest selling titles ever. GameStop VP of Marketing Tony Bartel says, "We believe Modern Warfare 2 has a chance to be the largest title of all-time, and obviously we're basing that on the reservation activity that we are seeing in our stores."

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 is set for release on November 10.
