Microsoft Lays Off 800 More People
Posted by Ramon Aranda on 11.04.2009

Gamasutra is reporting that Microsoft has cut 800 more jobs this week, bringing it's 2009 total to a whopping 5,000.

Microsoft recently revealed an 18% decline in profits for it's last fiscal quarter.

In response, MS responded by saying that, "we completed our reduction plan sooner than we had anticipated 11 months ago...at the same time, we continue to hire in priority areas, but also understand that continuing to manage our businesses closely, as we always do, can mean additional headcount adjustments."
