Smackdown Vs. Raw 2010 Selling Better on Xbox 360
Posted by Todd Vote on 11.06.2009
According to THQ's own top ten.
If you head over to the THQ website, they have a list of their top ten selling games right now. It appears that not only is the game selling better on the Xbox 360, but apparently the PS2 version is also outselling it's younger, bigger, badder brother. Good news though as it appears both the PS3 version and the PSP version are outselling the Wii version of the game.
The whole list reads like this:
1. SVR 2010 (Xbox360)
2. Spongebob Squarepants: Truth or Square (Wii)
3. Cars Race-O-Rama (Xbox 360)
4. SVR 2010 (PS2)
5. Marvel Super Hero Squad )Wii)
6. SVR 2010 (PS3)
7. SVR 2010 (PSP)
8. SVR 2010 (Wii)
9. Cars Race-O-Rama (Wii)
10. World of Zoo (Wii)
Now the question I pose to you readers is this: How long will it take software sales to reflect the increase in sales of the PS3?
I dont think the ps3 owners are in the market for smackdown vs raw.
Im mostly surprised the Wii one (which was finally made into a real wrestling game) is selling so poorly. Then again, I guess the little kids who watch wrestling cant afford a Wii

Until they change the engine to something more like WWF No Mercy, I'm not buying it for any system.

I feel burnt from the last one. The first couple of weeks it seemed great but then it just became whatever. I was looking for more DLC but that sucked.
I'm going to wait to see if I get it for Christmas. right now if I want to play a fighting game I'll go SF4 or Tekken6 anyway.

Well you own own both a PS3 and 360 you'd probably buy it for 360 as the PS3 has yet again got the gimped version which has more limits on the CAS mode.
The PS2 sales don't surprise me, while they still make games for it they'll hurt PS3 sales. In past generations you found yourself upgrading to the new system because all your favourite franchises migrated over to it, while people can get most of the big name titles of the old hardware there's not much incentive.

"I dont think the ps3 owners are in the market for smackdown vs raw."
What makes you say that, just out of curiousity?

Probably because aside from one franchise (Uncharted) the PS3 is little more than a nice Blu-ray player.

Really? That's a very interesting viewpoint, considering the 360 only started getting THQ's WWE game with SvR 2007

Why is it good news that the other versions are outselling the Wii version?

I own a PS3 and I bought the PS2 version. On the 360 and PS3 versions of the game, you can only use a created wrestler in a created story 10 times. On the PS2 version, you can use a created wrestler in the CAS as many times as you want. The graphics may not be as good, but I'd rather be able to make a complete story with my CAW....

I have it on Xbox and I bet it sucks just as much on all the other consoles. Last year's game was trash and this year's is not much better.
Honestly, you're better off playing Rumble Roses XX, the play mechanics are much better, pretty much the height of the THQ wrestling series, except you get girls instead of the WWE wrestlers. Just pretend they are divas if you want, divas that wrestle more like the male wrestlers.
I really wonder about THQ/Yuke's decisions. If they didn't sign on for 5 more games I'd say they were preparing to drop the license. I wish they would have dropped it and let somebody else try it out, SvR is terrible now.
