Activision Confirms New Call of Duty Next Year

Will join Guitar Hero, Shrek and Spider-Man for 2010 releases.
Activision announced some new titles coming out next year, including the next Call of Duty.
In a conference call with analysts, Mike Griffith, Acitivision Publishing president, said "The diversified lineup will include titles based on the best selling franchises including Call of Duty, Guitar Hero, Shrek, [and] Spider-Man."
The Shrek game will tie in with the upcoming movie, but no word on what the other games will contain.
This isn't the first time that a new Call of Duty has already been mentioned. In May, a Treyarch employee said that Call of Duty 7 was already in production.
Also, the same story, posted by GameSpot, stated that Treyarch is looking for "Vietnam War-era tunes, as well as Cuban, African, and Soviet Union music." This suggests a new Cold War setting for the game.
I don't know about you, but it would be nice to see the WWII setting put away for good. What do you think?
I was kind of tired of the WWII setting after COD3, but World At War renewed my love for WWII-era FPS. I wouldn't mind another WWII-era COD.
I would be very interested in a Vietnam-era one, though. I think there are so many possibilites to play with from that era and they could make a dirtier, nastier COD since Vietnam was an UGLY war.
Also, if they had an alternative Cold Era-theme where the US and Russia actually go to war, that would be very interesting.
I think the COD franchise is in a great spot because they can continue the Modern Warfare series, the WWII series and probably start a Vietnam or Cold Era series. And all of them will sell like a motherfucker.

Yeah it would, but I'm not buying another Treyarch mess.

Plain & simple, Call of Duty World at War IS A CLASSIC to me already. This is such an awsome game as I admit going back to WWII was going to be shitty but i love this game way more than modern warfare 1. Natzi zombies is the shit! levels and maps were a great challange. u have these people that kept getting their asses kicked in this game saying i hate this game i like modern warfare better but truth be told...i wanna see Vietnam War in this bitch. I had less lag & disconnects to servers playing World at War, it was way more of a challange and for the record...i think Modern Warfare 1 could've done so much better but the time wasn't put in to it as much as World at War which is what i loved about every level, every wave of zombies, so hell ya bring it on Treyarch!!!!!!!!!!!

ANOTHER Call of Duty - Overrated Crap game?
ANOTHER Guitar Hero?
Fuck off, Activision. And fuck off all those R-tards who continue to buy this dross.

How do they keep making Guitar Hero games? They don't seem to sell that much. I guess the overhead cost is nothing. The graphics and engine are pretty much already done, and all you have to do is get a few programmers to plug in new songs. I think we're up to 5 Guitar Hero games this year. Anytime you're making a video game around Van Halen, who no one has cared about for 20 years, then you know something's wrong.
On another note, NEW COD FTW! As long as they keep being so damn good, they can put them out twice a month for all I care. Well maybe that's a bit too much...

When will "Call of Duty: Revolutionary Road" come out, set in 1776???
Doing a Vietnam one is a good idea, though.
