Will Rock Band 3 Teach You How To Play Real Instruments?
Posted by Ashish on 11.07.2009

Dhani Harrison, son of Beatles legend George Harrison, told the Chicago Tribune that he wants Rock Band 3 to be "more real" and that he will be on board as a consultant for the game to see that that happens.

"I'm working on Rock Band 3' and making the controllers more real so people can actually learn how to play music while playing the game," Harrison said. "Give me a couple years, it's going to happen."

He also told the Boston Herald that he wants to teach people "to play music, not just to pantomime in rhythm."

It's the only logical place that the genre can go at this point.

I dont want to learn how to play real instruments...that way it becomes a educational game and those suck balls.

I do love these games, but I think that if they try to make it more "realistic" it will just ruin a great party game, which is what this game is all about.

what's next? A Call of Duty game that includes actual SF training?

I'm sure it would just be an option.

If you want a party game, you will still be able to pick up one of the 16 Guitar Heroes that come out every year.

I personally think this sounds awesome. If anybody can do it and make it still be fun, it's Rock Band.

Surely this is just pandering to those critics that are always complaining that people would be better off playing real instruments instead of Guitar Hero or Rock Band.

In this ADHD world this game franchise will finally end. No one wants to be educated on how to play an instrument if your not already inspired by now to pick up a real instrument you most likely never will be.

While I like the idea I really get the feeling it's going to flop.
