Nintendo of America President Reggie Fils-Aime told GameTrailers TV that no timeframe has been set for the new Legend of Zelda development for the Wii.
"We haven't committed to Zelda in 2010," he said.
He did add that Shigeru Miyamoto is "tracking" the game for 2010.
"That's what he said, and we'll see how that continues to develop."
He did once again confirm that Super Mario Galaxy 2 and Matroid: Other M are set for 2010. He also made a bold prediction, stating that New Super Mario Bros. Wii will outsell Modern Warfare 2 on Xbox 360 (not PS3 or PC) by the end of the holiday season.
"Absolutely. I say that unequivocally," Reggie proclaimed. "Let's take it all the way through the January NPD data -- yes. I'll put that stake in the ground."
lol MW2 is going to be the biggest selling game EVER!!

Fuck Nintendo and their greedy ways,
All their fanboys rave about how creative they are and yet they're shoving more Mario crap down our throats.
If a Wii HD does release in the following year or two it will cement the original Wii as one of the worst systems ever released in terms of quality games. There wouldn't even be 10 AAA Games that have been released on the Wii and there would be less then 5 that weren't produced by Nintendo.

I think that New Super Mario Bros. Wii will outsell Call of Duty in the long run. The DS game sold 19 million copies compared to about 11 million for COD4. (Including both versions). And New Super Mario Bros. DS still is regularly in the top ten selling games.
Regardless of how good COD is it won't sell in Japan. So if you take World Wide figures into account Mario should win.

MW2 looks like it's going to be a Great game and all, but honestly, What the fuck is up with you? Sure, I may not like Nintendo of America (I dislike Reggie), but you flat out calling Nintendo Greedy is just hilarious. You think Sony or Microsoft aren't greedy either? THEY ARE JUST AS GREEDY AS THE NEXT GUY! All Companies want money. Nintendo is a Business, just like Microsoft, Sony, and all Third Party devs. They are not your servants, giving you exactly what you want. Look at the people who buy fucking Guitar Hero every year, Madden, and (Insert FPS here).
The Wii is the first Nintendo Home Console since NES to have more than one Mario Platforming Game that isn't a port/Remake. You may not like the Spinoffs and what not, but do us all a favor and shut the fuck up. Call me a Tool, a Fanboy, or a Nintendrone all you want, but calling out Nintendo for "Simply shoving down Mario through our Throats" is asinine. Activision does this all the time, so does Square Enix (with whom I have respect for), EA, and Ubisoft does this.

I totally agree PJ. These microsoft and sony fanboys are just upset that the wii is extremely popular while their xbox's and playstations have crazy good graphics but the same gameplay that nintendo came out with years ago. And they call themselves "hardcore" gamers because they refuse to revolutionize the industry and just do the same shit over and over. Same gameplay, better graphics. The only thing that ever gets better are graphics quality. Graphics dont mean shit. Look at Guitar Hero and those music video games that are so popular. Does anyone care about the graphics on those? No. Look at how incredibly well the wii sold, are the wii's graphics that good compared to playstation and xbox? No.
Sony and Microsoft just copy Nintendo and continue to do so. Great Graphics do not win the console war, as evidenced by the Wii kicking the shit out of the xbox and playstation. its ALL about gameplay. They don't have good games? Thats a matter of opinion. Don't cry because youre losing the console war. "the worst console of all time in terms of quality games"??? Thats a pussy way of saying "Yeah, Nintendo outsold the 360 and ps3 quite handily...but the games on 360 are cooler!!!"
Nintendo creates games people want to play and they focus on GAMEPLAY, not increasing the graphics every time they make a new console.

I don't get why people complain about the number of games in any particular series. If you've had enough Mario games and don't want another then don't buy it. The games existence doesn't do anything to hurt you and it helps to fund other games that might be riskier to produce.

Seriously...idiots....a good portion of the people who own a Wii also own a Nintendo DS (Nintendo: making gaming cheap since 85!), meaning they more than likely OWN the game already...no one wants to play the same game on a bigger screen unless they are a true Nintendrone...and with the economy the way it is, I don't think it's happening.
Sorry fanboys...but the soldier boys are taking this one.

Phils-Aime is completely wrong where that's concerned. If he still thinks platformers will outsell shooters, then he's got something else coming. Plus, he's not advertising the game very well right now anyway, so there's no hype for Mario Bros. Wii at all.

Nintendo's Wii console to this point has been an unsatisfactory purchase for those of us waiting and finally being able to purchase it, for new Zelda games.
If the new game format fails, when it does get released, so will Nintendo.
Too many other OEMs are in the process of offering motion play and have the games on and coming on the market to attract a major switch from Wii to another machine in terms of buying video games and leaving Nintendo future Wii games on the store shelves.
So, I believe Nintendo is very afraid to release a Zelda -- failure at this point and will sell everything they can before it's release. Just look at the Mario release line-up for 2010.
