Man Marries a Computer Game Character

You have to love the Japanese...
A man named Sal9000 has married Nene Anegasaki, a character in the game Love Plus. The marriage took place at the Tokyo Institute of Technology and was attended by a live audience, as well as an MC and conducted by a legitimate human priest.
Assumedly the whole thing is either a joke or one man's way of showing devotion to his favorite game, but either way it is still a very strange gesture to make. The wedding was even broadcast on a video sharing website of which the groom is a member and some of it can be seen if you follow the link below.
