MAG Developer Says PS3 Gamers Are More Mature
Posted by Chris Lansdell on 01.24.2010

Zipper Interactive's Ben Jones has said that his company chose to make MAG a PS3 exclusive because of the lack of maturity on Xbox Live, citing "the things being said" over the service.

"I actually consider Xbox Live the more juvenile of the two...Each service has its own posse. I think the PlayStation audience definitely fits more to our game. As we saw in the beta we've got an audience that's willing to communicate and willing to organize and structure, and help other people to play the game. That's the most remarkable thing that I saw in the beta - random people helping other players along to try and familiarize themselves with this really cool experience."

I hear you Ben. I hear you.

Wow, a Sony-owned developer that thinks Sony's service is good. That's surprising.

There might be "things being said" on PSN if anyone used a mic :p

I don't see crimes being commited by 360 owners.

HAHAHA IN YOUR FACE 360-owners!

I have a ps3 and if the online crowd is more mature than the 360 crowd I would be shocked. Every third word uttered online on PSN is a curse word or racial insult. Is it every other word on 360?

Guess this guy is going to ignore all the drama that happened with PS3 release

I've never chatted on PSN or XBL, but reading some of these forums, it sounds like some of these fanboys will cut your throat if you say something bad about their console in person

Too bad the PS3 is a useless system that people waste oney on. lol ps3

Played on both, I'd have to agree with the article. People I've played with are more lax on the PS3, 360 people cuss out after every kill/random action.

But that's just me, I'm not trying to start a fanboy war or anything...

Your parents wasted money on you your whole life, does that make you useless, oh wait, yes it does.

Funny, the opposite was why Bungie decided to go with 360 only.

Because Halo was good right?

We are talking about videogames...right? Im mean if any of us were really mature, we wouldnt be playing video games.

Because MAG is good right?

The real reason is that the 360 is just too damn weak. And it doesn't work well with servers. And it's just... inferior in every way.

MWHAHAHAA. Seriously? PS3 more mature than Xbox Live? That's like saying Everquest is more mature than World Of Warcraft. Every (and I mean every, even the online bridge club your grandma attends) online service has their own sect of douchebags that act like four year olds because they have a subscription, a keyboard and/or microphone.

PS3 has the illusion that they are more mature. I mean, what could possibly make them more mature? Oh do they ask politely if they may teabag you when they frag you in Killzone? "May I deposit my balls in your general area around your head? "...good lord some people are just stupid.

I cant wait till Mass Effect 2 FUKKEN BURIES Mag's sales like HHH buries careers

RE: Kedrix.

No - like Zipper were saying - the PSN is more mature. so you're not going to run into those kinds of people. But you've just proved their point for them.

Re:Duh

Ummm, those same people are on PSN. You do run into them and they are not more mature. However, PSN has an illusion of being more mature because their subscription base is significantly less.

BTW, I'm not proving any point, I support all of the systems, I just want to see more great games, regardless of system. But the fact remains, there are idiots on all walks of subscription services.

PS3 didnt come bundled with a mic so theres less people talking. I own both consoles and I intend to grief and player kill in MAG.

It doesn't matter what Mag thinks, their game's graphics are ugly, old-looking like ps2 graphics. They are a flash in the pan, and I only have a ps3.
