Check out the numbers!
Despite record revenue of $19.02 billion for the quarter ending December 31 2009, Microsoft reported a dip in revenue for their Entertainment and Devices Division, home to the Xbox 360. Revenue dropped 11% to $2.9 billion, and hardware units sold dropped 13% to 5.2 million.
Of note is the high software attach rate, which shows the average number of games owned by each console owner. For the Xbox 360 that number is at 8.8, which is excellent. Microsoft also drew attention to the fact that buyers are increasingly picking up the Elite and Special Edition hardware bundles over the Arcade ones.
Xbox Live members have increased 35% over the same period last year, and are now at 23 million users.
