Tecmo Bowl Throwback Coming To PSN And XBLA

The Classic SNES game goes digital.

Tecmo Koei America has officially announced a remake of Tecmo Super Bowl, arguably one of the funnest football games of all time. The new version is being developed by Southend Interactive and will be released as Tecmo Bowl Throwback. The game will retain all the classic gameplay, as well as introduce new features to modernize the franchise. The game will release via PSN, and XBLA in the Spring of 2010.

Online Leaderboards: Compare your stats in a wide array of online leaderboards

Classic Game Modes: Battle it out with your friends and kick off a game in Preseason, Season or Pro Bowl modes

TECMO BOWL THROWBACK is rated E for Everyone with Mild Suggestive Themes by the Entertainment Software Ratings Board (ESRB).

Wow, awesome stuff. I LOVE the fact that it is customizable with players and teams! Can we say recreation of current NFL teams or perhaps the old classic ones...I think we can :) This is the first football game in a long time I actually think I want to buy first day of release.
