Dissidia 2 May Be In The Works
Posted by Adam Larck on 03.18.2010

Remember the PSP fighter based on Final Fantasy released last year?

Well, Dissidia: Final Fantasy did good, selling over a million copies. Because of that, there's a good chance a sequel will be seen down the line.

Game designer Tetsuya Nomura was recently asked about a sequel to the game, and left good hope for a return to the PSP game.

"I'll do my best for a sequel to Dissidia Final Fantasy!" he said.

What did you think of the game if you played it?

yeah it would be pretty awesome if they added lightning and barthandelus, maybe vayne solidor and vaan........ok cross out vaan, but it would feel pretty epic to play as lightning in a beat em up.

With the likes of Guilty Gear Slash, Street Fighter Alpha 3, Tekken: Dark Resurrection, & Soul Calibur: Broken Destiny (Blazblue Portable is on its way through the post to me) in my PSP collection, Dissidia just didn't cut it. Like I said in the top five letdowns topic, I sold it two days after puchasing it.

WadeMcG,

BlazBlue Portable was released on March 9th, 2010. So, it has been out for almost two weeks now. That is probably the best pure fighter on the PSP because of the graphics and content.
:-/

On a side note, you do not understand Dissidia Final Fantasy. It wasn't a traditional fighting game. It was created to convey the excitement of Sephiroth vs. Cloud from FFVII Advent Children. Also, there is a TON of strategy involved with the game. You have materia to collect, attach to sections, you have different weapons and armor you need to buy, trade/make, or discover. It HAS a ton of content....

So, you may hate the game because you DO NOT know how to play the game...

It's probably one of a dozen games Nomura has on his plate right now. I'd be all for it.
