Company will use own program to train part-time employees.
This is something that you'd only see in the Land of the Rising Sun.
McDonalds will start using Nintendo DS in Japan to train part-time employees. The system will be loaded with a program called "eSmart" that the company is currently developing.
Two DS handhelds will be put into every store in the country, which has about 3,700 stores total. This means McDonalds may be getting up to 7,400 systems.
The total cost is estimated to be 200 million yen ($2.2 million), not factoring in the eSmart program. However, the fast food company expects this new training system to save money by cutting training time in half.
