Next Mass Effect May Be Multiplayer Focused

Expect reveal at Video Game Awards.
Besides the nominations being announced today for Spike TV's Video Game Awards, another announcement may have sneaked out.
Bioware is set to revealed their next project during the show, but an early teaser has revealed that it may be based on Mass Effect. On top of that, Kotaku is reporting a source is saying the upcoming game will be multiplayer-focused.
According to the same source, the game will not be based on the RPG side of the series, but will instead try to get the shooter crowd.

Not every game needs to be multiplayer especially a game like Mass Effect. Oh well another franchise getting ruined with unnecessary multiplayer component.

'Based on Mass Effect' suggests to me a companion piece to the main trilogy.
The universe is so deep after only two games that there is no end to the ways they could have a Shepard free storyline in a seperate shooter game.

oh another franchise gets fucked up with multiplayer. Bioshock and the assassins creed games i loved but now they are crap with multiplayer

Oh good God, calm down! Bunch of whiners. I think a different genre game in the Mass Effect universe is awesome.

as a HUGE mass effect fan I'm actually ok with this on one condition. as long as its a side game in the series that lets you pit yourself against others as one of the races/classes its fine. IF however this is the 3rd piece of the trilogy I will be heartbroken, the trilogy should be all RPG as thats what the game is. if they strip away the RPG elements then they will be taking all thats unique about the game away (character development/interacting, storyline, ect).

I'm cool with it being a multiplayer shooter, as long as it isn't "Mass Effect 3". Maybe something along the lines of the First Contact Wars.
Just leave Shepard out of it, please?

Yes if this is a spin-off game designed to add longevity beyond the trilogy, absolutely not if this is the planned final installment.

Yeah its not Mass Effect. and if it is then its a Mass Effect side project and NOT ME3. Bioware knows there would be rioting outside their studios if they did this

I'm a HUGE Mass Effect fan, and I'm perfectly okay with a multiplayer shooter Mass Effect spin-off. I just hope it doesn't get in the way of Mass Effect 3.
