Microsoft Files Legal Complaint Over Halo 4 Beta Scam

The company isn't pleased...
Microsoft has filed a complaint over a Halo 4 beta scam. Fusible reports that the company has filed a request to have the domain name halo4beta.net transferred to their ownership after the site went live and issued fake invites for the upcoming game in what was revealed to be a phishing scam.
The creative director of Developer 343 publicly debunk the scam and Microsoft then filed the complaint. Microsoft must prove that the domain name was registered maliciously, which is believed to be likely as the website was involved in fraud. Halo 4 is set for release late this year.
