Naughty Dog Considered Jak & Daxter
Posted by Mike Malloy on 02.06.2012

Before they started The Last of Us Naughty Dog decided to bring a new Jak & Daxter to the PS3. They were considering using the Uncharted team to make it a reality.

"I don't know if this is going to make [fans] happy or sad," but we did explore the idea fairly extensively," company co-president Evan Wells said. "Something that we talked about early on was, 'Lets go back and apply what we've learned with the Uncharted games to Jak & Daxter.'"

Naughty Dog decided against it in the end because they realized that an experimental Jak & Daxter game would not satisfy fans of the series.

I'm half and half... I mean I really love those characters, but what story do they really have left to tell? For fucks sake they made a racing game...

In a way, they're right. I don't want Jak and Daxter back unless they have a story worth telling.
