PlayStation Network Accounts Becoming Sony Entertainment Network Accounts
Posted by Adam Larck on 02.06.2012

Soon, the term PSN will be outdated and replaced with SEN.

Sony is changing all PlayStation Network accounts to Sony Entertainment Network accounts on Wednesday.

The change will just be in name only. All functions and logins will remain the same. Sony is making the change to try and unify all brands under the SEN name.

"The goal is for there to be one networked log-in for all Sony services," a Sony spokesperson said. "Changing the name 'PlayStation Network account' to 'Sony Entertainment Network account' helps clarify the unity between PSN and other Sony Entertainment Network services."

One thing to note is that the PSP will not be updated, meaning it will still be PSN when logging in on that.

Makes sense....until you see that they won't change the PSP accounts. Why the hell not?

Well, to put it simply is that Sony doesn't care about the PSP anymore. They're looking ahead with what's current and sadly, the PSP is not.

But to get my own point, it doesn't matter if they're (Sony) changing the name of PSN to SEN, everyone's still going to call it PSN.

You're still going to be on PSN if you're on your Playstation. It's just teh account is a SEN account.

If they're making it an 'all in one' login they better make sure there's no "known vulnerabilities" that aren't patched this time.
