EA Posts $381 Million Loss

Medal of Honor: Warfighter having weak sales.
Electronic Arts has posted a second quarter loss today, with the third quarter not looking better early on.
The publisher reported a $381 million net loss, while bringing in $711 million in revenue for the quarter ending Sept. 30. However, EA did see "sharp digital growth" from FIFA 13, Madden NFL 13 and Battlefield titles.
"On the strength of our digital extensions, FIFA and Battlefield are the two biggest revenue events in our company's history," EA president Frank Gibeau said in an earnings release. "Both are well on their way to becoming billion dollar annual franchises."
Looking towards this quarter, EA said that it could be a bit weak due to sluggish sales of Medal of Honor: Warfighter. However, Need for Speed: Most Wanted sales could help offset that.
