Tekken Card Tournament Announced
Posted by Adam Larck on 01.21.2013

Namco Bandai has announced a new way to play Tekken.

Tekken Card Tournament will be out in a few weeks on tablets, smartphones and web browsers, with physical booster card packs coming to stores this summer.

The game will let players use a variety of fighters in the series to take on friends or AI opponents in the free-to-play version. The cards can either be played as a physical card game against local friends, or the cards can be scanned by a phone or tablet to be used in the digital game as well.

"TEKKEN CARD TOURNAMENT leverages our company's core strengths in both interactive entertainment and toys to create a crossover product that fans of both forms of entertainment can enjoy," said Carlson Choi, Vice President of Marketing for NAMCO BANDAI Games America Inc.  "The TEKKEN series has enjoyed more than 40 million unit sales worldwide, and now we are excited to bring it to millions of new fans through web browsers and mobile platforms."
