THQ Assets Divided at Auction
Posted by Adam Larck on 01.23.2013

Many THQ properties have been split from the company following the auction yesterday.

According to Kotaku, Relic Games, developer of Warhammer 40K and Company of Heroes, has been bought by Sega.

Deep Silver purchased Volition and the Satins Row franchise, along with the Metro license. Ubisoft picked up the South Park RPG and THQ Montreal. Finally, Take-Two Interactive picked up Evolve.

As far as money goes, DDinvesting reports that Crytek paid $500K for Homeland, Sega paid $26 million for Relic, Ubisoft paid a combined $5.7 million for their purchase, Take-Two spent $11 million for Evolve and Koch Media, aka Deep Silver, paid $28.1 for Volition and Metro.

What does this mean for Vigil, Darksiders and other THQ properties? Well, they will "remain part of the chapter 11 case" for now and THQ will continue to look for buyers. However, according to the letter sent to employees, anyone that worked at a company not acquired are being let go.

"If you are an employee of an entity that is not included in the sale, we regret that your position will end," the letter read.
