Playstation 4 to Feature New User Accounts?
Posted by Jeffrey Harris on 01.23.2013

Kotaku reports they have detailed information on the PS4 development kit from a source that goes by the name of SuperDae, an individual who previously tried to sell the next-generation Xbox development kits on eBay.

According to the report, the console will feature 8GB of system memory and 2.2GB of video memory. It will be powered by a 4x Dual-Core AMD64 'Bulldozer' processor and a AMD R10xx GPU, the latest Orbis development kit supposedly comes with 160GB of hard drive space and uses the Blu-ray storage medium.

The report also says that Sony is dropping the DualShock 3 design, and include improved motion detection with enhanced tilt correction as well as RGB LED light built in. The peripheral will also reportedly include touchpag technology similar to PS Vita and a physical "share" button to act as a means of accession social networking while you game.

The PS4 will also allegedly allow "multi-user simultaneous logins" by linking accounts to controllers. Pads are said not to be "locked" to logins, and users will be prompted to sign in each time one is activated.

Since the revealed specs were apparently taken from a development kit, they are subject to change. Sony hasn't yet confirmed details on the release of the PS4, but a 2013 unveiling is expected at E3 this year.
