Developer Avalanche Studios said that Disney Infinity will expand the universes of Pixar and Disney films. Avalanche Studios worked with filmmakers to offer new stories with the character in each themed Play Set of the game.
The playset based around The Incredibles will feature super villains and also early versions of the Omnidroid robot from the movie. The play set for Monsters University will show Fear Tech, a rival campus mentioned in the movie but is now explorable in the game.
John Vignocchi also talked about working with producer Jerry Bruckheimer on the Pirates of the Carribbean play sets: "When you're playing inside Pirates of the Caribbean, you're actually playing an experience that although set during the initial first three films, it's actually adding to the experience," executive producer John Vignocchi told Digital Spy at a press briefing. There's characters inside of the Pirates Play Set, for example, that didn't make it into the film but Jerry [Bruckheimer] gave us access to them for the game."
He added: "Storytelling in all the Play Sets we have in the game are not retelling the story of the film, but rather adding and expanding the fiction of each of the films."
Disney Infinity is a new game game from disney that will combine physical figurines with a video games similar to the Skylander series.
