ESA Hosting College Game Competition
Posted by Adam Larck on 02.04.2013

College game development teams will have a chance to show a game off at E3 this year.

The Entertainment Software Association announced a competition for college students today with the winners showing their game at E3.

Called the Electronic Entertainment Expo College Game Competition, it is open to any college or university with a video game development program. Colleges can submit one game developed by a team starting March 15 and ending April 19. All submissions need story details and assets of the playable game.

Five finalists will be contacted on May 10 and given display space at E3. The overall winner will be announced at the expo.

"The collegiate game competition is an important step for the ESA in encouraging and rewarding students pursuing careers in video game development", said ESA president and CEO Mike Gallagher in a press statement. "Our learning institutions house so much innovation and talent that will shape the future of our industry and ESA intends to honor student achievement and provide a deserved spotlight at E3."
