New Xbox Console Said to Require Constant Internet Connection and Block Used Games
Posted by Jeffrey Harris on 02.06.2013

Edge Online reports that the new Xbox console will require a constant internet connection and also block the use of second-hand games.

It is also believed that all the games, which will ship on 50GB-capacity Blu-ray discs, will all come with a one-time activation code. The report also says the game will feature an AMD eight-core x64 1.6GHz CPU, a D3D11.x 800MHz graphics solution and 8GB of DDR3 RAM. The size of the hard drive, however, is yet to be decided. The new system has reportedly entered beta stage, with a shipment of brand new prototype kits having made their way to developers.

Alleged Xbox 720 patent filings also suggest that the next console will feature an improved Kinect device as well as two CPUs, one for gaming and another for multimedia applications. The system is rumored to launch during the 2013 holiday season and also feature the Kinect 2.0, 3D technology and the Xbox TV.
