Career and Online Mode Details Revealed for EA Sports UFC
Posted by Jeffrey Harris on 04.30.2014

Electronic Arts announced today the details for the career and online modes for their upcoming release EA Sports UFC. EA Sports also released a new gameplay video highlighting the game's Career Mode, which you can check out in the player below.

Career Mode will allow you to start a career with a Create a Fighter system that will also allow users to upload their own likeness directly into the face using the "Game Face" feature. Fighters can be created in any of the UFC's eight weight classes with 10 different fighting styles.

You can compete on The Ultimate Fighter, where you have to win an elimination match to get drafted on to a TUF team. 13 pairs of real-life fighters will appear as coaches in the game, including Hendricks and Carlos Condit, Benson Henderson and Nate Diaz, Chris Weidman and Lyoto Machida, Jon Jones and Alexander Gustafsson, and many more. In the Ultimate Fighter Mode you will be able to work your way through the tournament in order to win a UFC contract.

You can also play in Professional UFC Career Mode where your fighter is part of the UFC roster, where you can fight on PPV under cards in order to move up to the main cards on the roster and try to win a title. There will be a Longevity Meter feature, where if you absorb or take too much damage, your longevity meter will run out and then your career is over.

Also, below are some of the details for the new online modes for the game:
  • Online Championships – How good are you? It's time to prove it. Following the format of the most played online experience at EA SPORTS, Online Championship will let you prove how you stack up against the rest of the world. Win enough to climb the ranks of the best players and fight for the belts in the toughest divisions.

  • Online Rivalries – Create a 1-on-1 online rivalry with a friend and answer the question…who is really number one? Each rivalry tracks head-to-head stats for providing an in depth analysis and multiple rivalries are supported simultaneously.

  • FighterNet – Your HUB to track all of your online competition. Track and compare your stats against friends and rivals, share fight highlights, and maybe even have your highlight featured in the Highlights of the Night. Plus, get access to some of the latest UFC content as and when available with the UFC Spotlight feature.

EA Sports UFC is due out on June 17 for the Xbox One and PS4.
