But Xbox Live is a problem...
While the team behind Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn want to see the game on Xbox One, Xbox Live's rules preventing MMOs from working across platforms are getting in the way. Game director Naoki Yoshida spoke with Pocket-lint about the game, saying that Square Enix is in talks with Microsoft about bringing the game to Xbox but that the lack of cross-platform compatibility is a stumbling block.
"We really want to do an Xbox One version," Yoshia said. "The thing is, A Realm Reborn is all about cross-platform compatibility. Anybody from any platform can play together. We don't want to split our community into people who play on this platform or play on that one. So we're currently in talks with Microsoft, trying to convince them that this is what needs to happen."
Yoshida also said that a Mac version of Final Fantasy XIV is in development. The game hit PC and PS3 in August 2013 and PS4 in April of this year.
