Neverwinter Hitting Xbox One
Posted by Adam Larck on 07.30.2014

The free-to-play MMORPG Neverwinter will be transitioning to consoles.

The title, based on Dungeons & Dragons, will hit Xbox One in China this fall and worldwide in the first half of 2015.

The transition will feature "all the same races, all the same classes, all the same maps. The content will be there, with some minor exceptions," according to lead producer Andy Velasquez.

The extra endgame content, such as Icewind Dale and the upcoming Tyranny of Dragons, will see staggered releases on the console.

The biggest change will be the controller support, which Velasquez told IGN he prefers.

"From the beginning, we always received feedback that this would be great with a controller, and we even have a bunch of PC users who, using just a 360 controller, have come up with keybind files," Velasquez said. "I basically just plugged a controller into my PC and messed around with different configurations. At this point now, I can't stand playing our game with a mouse and keyboard. I actually like playing it with a controller; it just feels better."

It's also worth noting that the Xbox One version won't be cross-play with the PC version, although there is no word if characters can be ported over or not.
