[Wii] Update on Guitar Hero III Replacement Discs

You can pre-register for a replacement disc as Activision semi-dates the new shipment.
Activision sent out an email update today for those who have contacted their customer support regarding replacement discs for Guitar Hero III for the Nintendo Wii. Given that the game is only outputting mono sound, Activision was bombarded with emails about the issue and they have responded by manufacturing replacements. Their response today:
We wanted to provide you with an update regarding the status of the Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock Wii replacement discs. The game has been approved by Nintendo and is currently in manufacturing. We expect to have the replacement discs available in February. Once we have the discs, we will contact you and then proactively send you a prepaid return envelop with a game exchange claim form. You should return the completed form with your current copy of the game. Once we receive a completed claim form and game, we will send you the replacement disc. We thank you for your patience and support.
So for those of us that have yet to purchase GH3 for the Wii, is it safe to now, or do we still need to wait till February?

If it plays like the PS3 version you should avoid it completely.

Actually the Wii version plays really well. The added sound coming from the Wii remote and the exclusive rumble functionality really add to the experience. Just needs the promised Pro Logic II surround sound.
