[Multi] 2K Sports Announces MLB Power Pros 2008
Posted by Jacob Lopez on 05.08.2008

2K Sports, the sports division of Take-Two Interactive, and Konami Digital Entertainment announced today the next game in its popular baseball franchise MLB Power Pros 2008. The game is scheduled to release for the Wii and PS2 this summer and on the Nintendo DS this fall.

MLB Power Pros is actually the highest-rated baseball game in Japan and was first made available in North America last year.

The game has a cartoon look to it and over ten different game modes including Practice, Exhibition, League, and Home Run Challenge modes. Gamers will also get to act as general manager and control their own franchise in Season mode or play in a role-playing story mode such as Success and MLB Life.

Playing as General Manager, players will be able to trade, sign free agents, coordinate practice schedules, purchase new equipment, call up and send down players from the Minor Leagues and many other management options.

Players can also play a story-based career in Success mode, which allows them to play baseball and improve their skills while balancing various situations in their personal lives. Gamers will then be able to take their player files into the MLB Life mode. In MLB Life, players will experience the fun of being a baseball player in an MLB career that spans 20 years. In that simulated career, gamers will be able to sign contracts, buy cars, make charitable donations and more.

The Wii version of the game will have Mii support and make use of the Wii controls for intuitive and easy to learn gameplay. Look forward to this game later this year.
