[Multi] Guitar Hero 4 Details
Posted by Jacob Lopez on 05.14.2008

News from 1up.com:

Activision has confirmed a few details about Guitar Hero IV in a recent issue of Game Informer. In order to keep up with the competition, the new Guitar Hero game will add a microphone and six-piece drumset (complete with crash and ride cymbals) to the mix. Guitar Hero IV will also add a feature called which will allow players to create their own tracks from scratch.

These songs will not have vocals, but players will be able to share them with friends, bringing a stronger online community to the franchise. Players will also be able to design their own musicians, album art and instruments.

While no songs have been confirmed yet, we know that Van Halen, The Eagles, Sublime and Linkin Park will all be in the game. Thanks to the recentlegal dispute with Gibson, the game will have custom guitars designed by RedOctane and Neversoft. The guitars are said to have a new feature that will directly affect the gameplay.

The game will be released on the 360,PS3 and Wii later this year.

Is it weird that they're blatantly ripping off Rock Band now?

And really, Linkin Park? I don't care if its a song from when they were actually relevent, NONE of their stuff has aged well at all.

The idea of a drum set with cymbals and a crash sounds cool.

But Linkin Park not feeling it....

It's at this point in development of both this franchise and Rock Band, that gamers should just realise they'll get more out of picking up a real instrument.

@guest

Like i say, sometimes you have to go where the competition takes you, or just sit back and watch them win.

Holy shit...MANY BUYS!

We were just saying last night how awesome it would be to make your own songs to play...now you can. This is amazing news.

Van Halen, Eagles, and Sublime included are definately EPIC VICTORY...Linkin Park should be OK, depending on what goes in.

People at Actvision:

"Hey, Rock Band is awesome! Let's steal their idea and pass it off as our own idea!"

they arent ripping off rock band...they had the name "Drum Hero" liscenced before rock band came out...they just decided to make 1 game instead of 2...and i bet that when Roack Band 2 comes out it will have a custom song feature

So when does Clarinet Hero featuring Kenny G come out? Or perhaps Accordian Hero with Weird Al Yankovic?

you realize the people who made rock band were the ons who made guitar hero 1 and 2 so it makes sense that guitar hero should get drums though I would rather just have guitar
I gotta have more cowbell though
