[PS3] No Plans For Trophies in CoD4

A developer at Infinityward explains
Well, for those of you who actually got the update before it was pulled by Sony (or are crossing your fingers for the next update), know that Infinityward has no plans to patch in the Trophy support for CoD4: Modern Warfare. They compared it to the Dualshock 3 support coming in too late in the game's development for the feature to be implemented. According to someone at Infinity, it is not a case of a lazy team, but they just don't have the resources to go back in add the stuff in.

"Are we noticing a trend here? From my total, it looks like not even a
handful of [legacy] games will be patching Trophy support, and the
majority of those are 1st party developers. With the exception of
Criterion (which no one doubts is awesome) and had a great system in
place that already had the game sava data linked to your PSN ID which
is how they'll be easily updating Trophies with their already planned
updates.
We would love to have added trophy support in the game, if only the
support for the feature came a bit sooner. However, at this point,
with our current production schedule; it's just not feasible.
In comparison, Infinity Ward is a small development team. We have just
under 100 employees (including non-dev team employees and QA). It has
absolutely nothing to do with "lazy devs". That's such an easy
accusation to throw around without having knowledge of the
circumstances involved. So to pull off a team of programmers essential
to our future projects to implement features released 9 months after
the release of our title is re-donk-ulous.
This has nothing to do with having the ability to do it, or desire to
do it. It simply comes down, do we have the time to do it with our
current production schedule? No? Alright, then it can't be done as
much as we want to do it.
Not unless we want to severely delay our entire productions schedule
and therefore delay whatever release may result from said production
schedule, which I guarantee you would have a much larger backlash than
Trophy support.
Hopefully this gives you a bit more insight into the logic behind it all. "
I'm ok with that. They can't all be forced to add in trophies. Besides, we don't want to end up like achievement whores and showing of your e-penis on XBL

It doesn't matter. The games in the future should have the feature. Also, the feature is better because it doesn't have a score (like the Achievement system).
Snake, you are wrong. People can still compare the level that they achieve via trophies (that is the new system that is ****ing sweet). When I clicked on Mark's PSN, it showed his level and the trophies that he obtained. It was ****ing cool.

Its pretty entertaining to see how some of these fanboys try to act like they really don't care when something happens on 360 and not on PS3. Why don't you just admit it, Sony screwed up by not adding the updates in 2.40 from the very beginning instead of trying to act like Microsoft did something wrong with it.

That does sound cool. I know it was cool two years ago when the Xbox 360 launched and you could do that.
