[PS3, Xbox 360] Update on WWE Legends of WrestleMania
Posted by Ramon Aranda on 09.02.2008

I've been receiving emails from some of you anxious readers to get more information on WWE Legends of Wrestling for the PS3 and Xbox 360. The focal point of the questions have been about what decade(s) the game will cover as well as size of the roster and the fighting system.

I decided to contact THQ today to try and pry some information from their kung fu grips and here's what I was able to find out.

- The game will revolve around the 80's AND 90's.

- The roster is currently set to 40 which includes wrestlers and managers.

- The combat system is grapple-based.

- While playing in WrestleMania Tour Mode, players will partake in key WM matches. Vintage footage will setup matches, explain feuds and detail the rivalries behind them.

- There will be an online mode.

- CAW (Create a Wrestler); in this case Create a Legend will be available in the game.

- The game is being developed by Yukes.

Some of you have asked if guys like The Rock and Steve Austin could be in the game. While I wasn't told yes or no, I was told that "major" wrestlers who have competed at WrestleMania in the 80's and 90's are fair game. The Ultimate Warrior and Randy Savage have NOT been confirmed and are only rumored to possibly be in the game. When I get information on actual included wrestlers, I'll make sure to update you all.

Any additional questions? Leave your comments here or send me an email at franchise2@aol.com

Nice job casing the existing previews of the game and making it sound like you've got some sort of inside track with THQ going, pard.

I'll be waiting for your next lift job with baited breath.

Just my own personal list if I were to create this game and keep it to a 40 man roster from Wrestlemania I-XV which is the 1985 - 1999 timeline they are working with here. If they can even come close to this roster with a few additions and subtractions for managers, I am buying this game.

To be honest, Austin and Rock "shouldn't" be in this game.

As popular as they are, that's all they were. Popular during a popular era of wrestling. Besides, we already had enough Austin and Rock in WWE video games anyways.

I really really hope that the likes of Austin,The Rock, HHH, Kane etc. are'nt in this game and that THQ put in the 'Real Legends' ie. Paul Ornorff, Ricky Steamboat, Demolition,
Big John Studd, King Kong Bundy etc.
Those guys deserve to be in and anyway there is a hell of a lot of people sick
to the back of their teeth seeing Austin & The Rock etc. being continuously put in to games!!

Welp I think its about time to protest this game. Vince McMahon is a moron, and doesnt care one bit about his customers and fans. How can Savage not be in this game? Jason.Polito@yahoo.com Email me, we can set something up to start protesting and voicing the fans opinions!
