New Rockband DLC
Posted by Chad Alan on 12.24.2008

Harmonix/MTV announced on Dec. 23rd the release of 4 new tracks for the Rockband music catalog of downloadable content.

"Take Back the City" by Scottish alternative rock band Snow Patrol off of their 2008 album Hundred Million Suns

"Space Truckin" by Deep Purple off of their influential album Machine Head.

"Hymn 43" by flute-lead rock band Jethro Tull from their Aqualung album.

"Funk #49" by The James Gang which features Joe Walsh, Dale Peters, and Jimmy Fox.

Each track will be available for $1.99 (160 Microsoft Points) starting December 30th.

Maybe now with multiple songs from the Jethro Tull catalog we'll see a flute included in the instruments. I always played air-flute when I was a kid.

Either I'm getting old or about 2/3rds of the DLC for Rock Band sucks. I really don't know which.

I don't like a lot of the DLC that Rock Band puts out... but I do like three out of four of these songs. Never heard the Snow Patrol song.

The one thing that to me is indisputable, is that Harmonix/MTV has done a fantastic job of putting out an eclectic mix of music, and lots of it. I mean, sure, I'm never ever going to download a country song for that game, but it's nice that they are exploring that option. They bring out old music, new music, fun music, etc. Guitar Hero World Tour continues to disappoint on all fronts, and while they have put out some decent DLC, there simply isn't enough of it.
