This trailer for God of War III hit the net today. Game director Stig Asmussen confirms that it is all in game footage, done in a cinematic style. He also stated that they have had this footage for months now, and the game is very far along at this point. Here are his comments on it:
"A couple things I want to qualify before we look at it. First of all, it's all 100% real. There's no post done on this. The engine spits out raw frames. We put those frames into Adobe Premier... Everything that we're seeing here is using actual in-game resolution, textures, and effects. It's scripted out in a cinematic way, because there's a story that I wanted to tell, that, if we were to play the game, we couldn't tell in two and a half minutes. We couldn't play the game exactly the way this runs out. But, let me assure you, we can drop Kratos into these levels, and we can do all this stuff that's happening here right now. So with that, here's the God of War 3 trailer:"
Sony also stated today that the release date for God of War III would be announced at E3 this summer.

Wow. That looks incredible. The end has me a bit weary though... I hope that each different level of the game is not simply taking place on the back of a different Titan as the scale the side of Mt. Olympus. But yeah, Kratos looks bad ass, and the trailer looks amazing.
