Madden NFL 10 (Xbox 360) Preview

Heading into Hall of Fame week here in Canton, how does the newest Madden 10 football game stack up before release?
It's Hall of Fame week here in my hometown of Canton, Ohio. With more than two million fans flocking to our small town hidden amongst the skeletons of the once powerful steel industry, the nationally televised parade, the Hall of Fame Game between the Buffalo Bills and New Orleans Saints, and the annual Ribs Burn-off, there is no better place to be for football in August than here.
As part of our annual traditions in "Pigskin-land" we have our annual foray into the world of Madden with the new Maddent 2010. The demo which is available now on the Xbox 360 and the PSN, we are given a sneak peak as we replay the Cowboys versus the Giants amongst the snow covered gridiron of East Rutherford, New Jersey.
Immediately you can tell there has been a noticeable improvement in the fluidity of the graphics as the game looks even more realistic than Madden 09. One of the newest additions to this year's game is the camera angles that zoom in during a tackle. It does add a different aspect of the game that rivals television broadcasts. Another new addition is the ability to customize your advanced game clock speed, meaning you have the ability to have "video game" time or real time i.e. 15 minutes is 15 minutes. You can also fight for the fumble at the bottom of the pile to give your team a more of a chance of retaining or gaining the ball.
The game promises to provide the most authentic game available with hand warmers, towels, and team colored shoes as well as the biggest announcement ever, ONLINE CO-OP. While the demo doesn't give you an opportunity to test this out the simple possibility here is the sole reason to purchase this game.
The one thing that does seem to be lacking is the hit sticks and the tags for your players such as hands, tornados and bulldozers. While not the biggest deal in the world, I would like to see that stick around in the game. The in-game audibles have expanded as well as new rankings for your players such as short range, medium range, long range stats for the QB give the game a more authentic feel. "The Extra Point" continues with the televised feel with a re-cap show after a game in Franchise mode.
From what we have to play with you are looking at one of the best sports games to come out yet. Here is hoping that Madden 10 brings the good from Madden 09 and makes it great.
Madden 10 releases on August 14th for the Xbox 360 and the Playstation 3.
The Cardinals vs. Steelers demo was okay. I saw a few problems here and there. I guess it will stay because this is their "first" recreation of Madden in a long time. I hope they have a patch when the game is released....

Just pre-ordered today, and I have to say that I love the changes they've made. Slowing it down went a long way in making it feel like an actual football game, and the presentation is great. Still think the post-game celebrations could use some work but that hardly dampers my early impressions of the game.

This game is going to be sweet. I hope thy rate the chargers well. I'm thinking of changing my cell phone service to Net10 to try and save some money so i can afford the game. Net10 has cool phone and cheap deals from what i hear.
