Get ready to ride The Interceptor again. Just not as much as before
Spy Hunter: Nowhere to Run is very different than the previous games in the series. While Spy Hunter 1 and 2 where driving action games in which you completed mission objectives, Nowhere to Run features a lot more third person action and a lot less driving.
The Rock as Alex Decker? Yep.
Yes, for the first time in the series, Alex Decker, the game's main character, will set foot on solid ground! At the beginning of the game, The Interceptor, the powerful car/boat/motorcycle hybrid, gets stolen and is up to the protagonist to get it back. Decker is played by Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson and bears his likenesses and voice. Plus, The Rock is in the cover!
The game seems to be your standard third person action game. You control The Rock from a behind the back perspective and use a typical arsenal of weapons, like guns, rifles and rocket launchers to eliminate your enemies. You can also punch, kick and maul your way with brawling moves fitting of a seven time WWE Champion! Nowhere to Run also incorporates the famous Halo shield system. What this means is that The Rock automatically recovers health if he spends some time without taking damage. Obviously the effective use of cover plays an important role in the game.
The effective use of cover will keep you alive
You also get to control The Interceptor on several sequences. The major gripe thus far is that these sequences are usually linear and you must follow a strict set of objectives, unlike the more open ended predecessors.
Nowhere to Run is scheduled to be released in September. So far the game looks to be very different from anything else in the series and time will tell if this is a blessing or a curse.
