Fans of the FIFA series will be happy with the gameplay improvements in FIFA 07. For starters, players now accelerate and decelerate at a more realistic rate, which forces you to pass the ball more often since players will not be able to beat the defense on their own for extended periods of time.. Also contact between players is way more realistic, affecting direction and ball control among other things.
Improved shooting is just one of the few improvements to the game
Shooting is also less frustrating than before, since your players attributes are no longer the main factor behind shot success. In previous entries, you could miss perfect shots simply because the player who made the shot had horrible stats. Now the shot success is more under your control as the game takes into consideration the angle of the kick, the location of your player in relation to the goal and goal keeper and the speed of the previous pass if you shoot on the first touch. You also have a less powerful, but more accurate finesse shot at your disposal.
Graphically the game is looking much more improved, specially the more lifelike and realistic player motions. Off the field, with 520 teams to choose from, you will not run out of options as FIFA carries almost every imaginable license from all over the world. The financial model has finally been changed to real money instead of the points system and player progression has been added to manager mode, which will allow you to put young players with a lot of potential on the field, so they can learn and become the all stars of the future.
The most interesting new feature is the ability to pick your favorite team and play their real life schedule against other players on line. For example, you can choose your favorite club as Arsenal and whenever they have a game, you will be alerted and you can choose to go online and play against another human opponent whose favorite club is Arsenal's opponent for the day. The result of the match can and will contribute to online leagues.

FIFA 07 seems to be going in the right direction and hopefully will back up it's amazing array of licenses with great gameplay. FIFA 07 is scheduled to be released in October 3 2006 for the Xbox and PS2, with the 360 version a shot time later
