Tony Hawk's Project 8 (Xbox 360, PS3) Preview

Now this is more like Tony.
Tony Hawk might be changing gears in the Wii, but Tony Hawk's Project 8 for the Xbox 360, Xbox, PS2, PS3 and PSP will bring back the Hawk we know and love.
Outside of the graphic improvements, this new Tony Hawk feels and plays a lot like past entries in the series. You can see pedestrians and other non-playable characters in the levels, with arrows or other marks on top of their heads. Talking to them opens up an objective, such as grinding a certain object or pulling off a certain trick. Completing this missions bring you closer to the Project 8. But what is the Project 8? Well, it is part of the game's story mode and it involves Tony's search of the 8 best amateur skaters in the world. Of course, the goal of the game is to take your created skater into that group. The mission goals come in three different difficulties, amateur, pro and sick, and you will be able to switch difficulties on the fly.
Beutiful Graphics
Another new gameplay mode is the Hospital Bill mode. The goal of Hospital Bill is to have the most sick and painful bail, or fall. You actually get to control your bail to make it as sick looking as possible and rack up the highest hospital bill possible. Not for the weak of heart.
The Xbox 360 and PS3 versions are being built from the ground up. The game's new animation system will allow up to 20 different animations to play simultaneously and blend together for some amazing and realistic looking tricks. Objects such as metal and glass look absolutely amazing and character models are the most realistic ever, since their heads alone are made of 10,000 polygons!
Watch your head!
Tony will skate into the 360 on November 7 with a PS3 version soon after. The game will also hit the PS2, PSP and Xbox, although not much is known about those versions
