Metroid Prime 3: Corruption (Wii) Preview
Posted by Armando Rodriguez on 09.20.2006

There is very little info out there regarding this game, but 411mania always does whatever they can to bring you all the news. So let's take an early look at one of the Wii's most anticipated games.

Nintendo has the story details under wraps, so very little is known on what the cause for Samus Aran to jump into action is. What we do know is that the graphics in the game are looking really lot, thanks to a stream of light effects and reflections that help flesh out the futuristic look of the game. Also the Wii-mote is used for everything in the game!

The game has two control setups, "Advanced" and "Expert". The notable difference between both setups is the sensitivity of the Wii-mote, much like mouse sensitivity settings for PC games. You move and aim using the remote and the nunchaku attachment and like in the previous two Gamecube games, you have the ability to lock on to targets. But don't really on the lock on too much and learn to aim that Wii-mote, because some of the new enemies are too fast, or too small, for the lock on to work and you will need to rely on manual aiming to take them down. One of the cool portions of the demo according to Gamespot, was when a bunch of small, arachnid like enemies invade a room and you need to find a way out. Since you cannot lock on to them, it is an exercise to aim with the Wii-mote and destroy those who get on your way.

Puzzles will also use the Wii-mote, like when you have to turn a wheel-like lock to open a door, you will be required to rotate the Wii-mote while following on-screen cues.

Metroid Prime 3: Corruption is scheduled for an early 2007 release. We will update you on any new info that comes out until the game's release.
