Empire: Total War (PC) Preview
Posted by Ty Huston on 02.06.2008

Game: Empire: Total War
Platform: PC
Developer: Creative Assembly
Publisher: SEGA of America, Inc.

I've been tracking the information on I for some timeand I'm pretty excited about this game. Empire: Total War is the latest offering in the Total War franchise that includes both Medieval: Total War and Medieval: Total War II; their expansion packs, Shogun: Total War and Rome: Total War and its three related expansion packs.

Needless to say, the franchise has quite the following. I, myself, am a personal fan of the series. The current project, however, is different in that it will take place in a more recent century and display some mechanics that have not been seen in a Total War game thus far.

Did I fire one bullet or … damn it, Dirty Harry had it so easy with his revolver. Stupid musket …

Empire will feature an all-new graphics engine that will deliver, and I quote from the TotalWar.com website, "real-time seascapes, new advanced landscape and flora systems, dynamic weather and new battle choreography and occupy-able and destructible battlefield buildings."

Set in between 1700 and 1800, you'll get to experience war with the technological advances of the time such as the musket in the picture above, cannons, etc.

However, the really impressive and most anticipated portion of the game will be the new naval battle simulations.

This is where the money is, kids.

The following is a link to the latest FAQs from their website, which detail more of what will be coming in the game.
