Happy Holidays vacation week
Dear Readers,
“The Lost Highway” is on vacation this week. I apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused my huge (wink, wink) reader base. I will be back next week ready and able. However I will leave you with something film related.
Here are three films that hold nostalgic holiday value for me (and my husband) :
1. It’s A Wonderful Life
-Frank Capra’s all American masterpiece. It is timeless, it is tragic, it is bittersweet and it still makes me cry.
2. Home For the Holidays
-Hilarious, dark, sad with a brilliant cast. This movie never gets old.
3. Mighty Joe Young
-This one is for my husband. Every Christmas when he was a kid WWOR, Channel 9, NY which was broadcast in Buffalo would have a monster movie marathon and this one sparks nostalgia for him.
So tune in next week for the next column. Not sure what it’s going to be yet….
Sincerely,
Mary Markham
