Welcome to Week 31 of The 3 R's for the Movie/TV world.

PICK OF THE WEEK

Without any further ado, here is...

  • The Right

  • Bruce Campbell vs. Frankenstein: I was one of the people across America who actually got to see Bubba Ho-Tep in theaters. Well, as a huge fan of everything Bruce Campbell, I am excited to announce he has released information about his next project to AICN and I am very excited.

Hello everyone. Bruce Campbell here. This urgent message is short, because my keystrokes are monitored and I fear for my life. My partner at Dark Horse comics, Mike Richardson (normally a very rational and talented man), threatened to have his foot soldiers "crush my spleen" if I did what I am about to do. But the fans deserve to know, so with great trepidation I officially announce Bruce Vs. Frankenstein, the sequel to My Name is Bruce. Principal photography begins this fall in Oregon. I'd like to live long enough to see the cameras roll, so please, for the love of God, do not tell anyone - I can't risk this announcement getting back to Mike! Thank you.

More Frozen Goodness: The Adam Green directed flick will hit select theaters on February 5. Check out a new clip from the film and notice a certain hockey masked serial killer is driving the truck.

Vince McMahan actually makes a smart decision: WWE Films has made powerhouse hits such as See No Evil and Twelve Rounds and has finally decided their strategy was not working. In one of the smartest decisions Vince McMahan has made in recent years, he has chosen to work with Samuel Goldwyn Films and Vivendi as partners where the WWE superstars will be in supporting roles to established Hollywood stars. This is a great decision as the films will now have quality actors in the lead roles and the WWE talent backing them up, hopefully leading to better movies all around. They have signed on for nine films and will be branching out from the typical guy flicks, adding some comedies, dramas and thrillers to the plate. The first project is a family drama called Brothers Keeper and will star Patricia Clarkson, Danny Glover and John Cena. I don't think this is what I was hoping for in the area of "stars" but hopefully it will get better over time.

Book of Eli: When I see a movie that is smart and still packs a butt load of action, I like to talk about it. The new Denzel Washington/Hughes Brothers movie Book of Eli is one of those films. M. Night Shyamalan gets a lot of shit about having twist endings on all his films but what people don't remember is when it is done right (Sixth Sense) the twist makes the movie instantly re-watchable as compared to when it is done just to pull a fast one on the audience (The Village). Book of Eli has a twist at the end that makes me want to revisit the film as soon as possible. What makes this twist so brilliant is it does not affect the plot one bit, only there to add to the already great story. The movie seems simple as Denzel's Eli is travelling west with a book he is protecting at all costs. The problems arise when he comes across a man who wants the book as strongly as Eli wants to protect it. The great thing about the plot is both men want the book for different reasons, a strong philosophical point in this film. There is a lot of action and violence and the movie flies right to that final reveal at the end which is icing on the cake. CLICK HERE to read my full review and then take the time to check the movie out. It's worth the effort and time.

Machete Love: Fox has paid Robert Rodriguez $9 million, guaranteed a wide release and backend gross participation for his latest film Machete. If you read this column you know Machete, which started as a fake trailer for Grindhouse will star Robert DeNiro, Michelle Rodriguez, Jessica Alba, Lindsey Lohan and Danny Trejo. Along with the deal to domestically distribute the movie (Sony will distribute it in foreign markets, a deal made to raise the cash to make it independent of the studios), Fox has now become the new home for Rodriguez. He is currently working on producing Predators for them and FOX will be the studio that should be the home for his next few films. This is a great deal for Rodriguez and, as a huge fan, I couldn't be happier.

  • The wRong

  • Tim Burton's next film might not be what it was supposed to be: AICN is reporting that Tim Burton's next film will be another classic retelling but this time from the point of view of the villain. He has said he is interested in making a live action film based on Maleficent, the baddie from Sleeping Beauty. This is not a wRong. However, what makes it wrong is the fact this adds fuel to the fire that his Dark Shadows adaptation is teetering on the edge and might be one step away from death. I will pay to see a Maleficent movie but would rather see the vampire movie.

More dirt on the Saw grave: Saw VI was a great addition to the franchise. More than the last few films, Saw VI tied everything together and gave us a good story as well. The Saw franchise is not "torture porn" anymore than Friday the 13th is. It is a morality tale with people being put in situations they can win, but more often than not, choose a selfish, self-centered option and get what's coming to them. Ever since Jigsaw died, the new killer has been moving away from that motif but Saw VI proves that even he was being tested and he got what was coming to him for caring more about the torture than the lessons of Jigsaw. Now, with that said, despite the franchise getting back on its feet, it was still murdered at the Halloween box office by Paranormal Activity, more or less Blair Witch Project in a house. With the great success of Paranormal, it is clear they are moving forward with a sequel but the news of who they have hired to direct it shocks the hell out of me. They chose Kevin Greutert, the man who directed Saw VI. This tells me two things. (1) Greutert is a man who has good business sense and will jump ship to whatever movie is more likely to succeed and (2) Paranormal director Oren Peli is being told "thanks, now get out of the way and let the professionals handle this". I guess the money is good.

    (500) Days of Spider-Man: Marc Webb, the great director behind the awesome Indie (500) Days of Summer has been hired to be the new director of Spider-Man. For those who remember, Spider-Man 3 made close to $900 million at the box office so Sony is going to make the fourth one, a reboot, for much less money than its predecessors. The first step is to eliminate a lot of the superhero action and make it more about Peter Parker in high school. The script, by James Vanderbilt, is more about the Ultimate Spider-Man storyline, which I really liked reading but if there is not some great superhero vs. super villain action, fans are not going to be happy. The movie will make its budget but this might finally either (A) kill the Spider-Man franchise or (B) make it more like Twilight. Either option sucks.

Do you hate Brett Ratner?: Brett Ratner, the man who almost killed the X-Men franchise has done a recent interview about his next project and I am displeased. He is making Beverly Hills Cop 4, a movie I hoped would re-spark Eddie Murphy's career and after this interview I realize it will be the same old crap. When asked the biggest challenge, Ratner said he was worried about "attracting the 10 and 12-year-old kids who don't know anything about the original movies". He said he wants to make it for kids today to discover and that means making it kid friendly. Beverly Kills Cop was the highest grossing R-rated comedy for a very long time and this new direction means Ratner knows as little about this as he did about the X-Men franchise.

BUT WAIT, in a recent interview Ratner said the new movie will be a "Hard Core R" rated film. I can't figure out what the guy is angling at here but he needs to get his story straight. Next in the news is Eddie Murphy being interviewed about the movie and saying he didn't want to be in it because "the movie wasn't ready to be done." Someone doesn't know what is going on here and I am voting its Ratner.

Gremlins 3 in 3D: Who asked for this? The only good point is that it is in glorious 3D. Also announced is that Ghostbusters 3 (a movie I am MUCH more interested in) will also be in 3D. It's not just a gimmick anymore, kids. Let's hope the filmmakers involved use it for storytelling purposes (Avatar, Coraline) and not to just throw things at the audience (My Bloody Valentine).

Hobbit to hit at end of 2012: The Hobbit will not be finished in time for its originally scheduled 2011 release and has been pushed back to the fourth quarter of 2012. That sucks because the world is going to be destroyed then according to Roland Emmerich and the Mayans. How the hell am I supposed to enjoy this Guillermo del Toro movie with all the earthquakes, volcanoes and floods?

  • The Ridiculous

  • One more month until I stop bitching about The Wolfman: I have complained about kicking Rick Baker off the project. I have complained about the CGI killing the excitement I had for practical effects. I have complained about the trailer looking more Underworld than Wolf Man. This week's complaint is of the eye-rolling type. Joe Johnston has revealed who they have hired to come in and record the animalistic sound effects for the movie and two of those names are Gene Simmons of KISS and David Lee Roth of Van Halen. What the hell does David Lee Roth have to provide in the form of animalistic sound effects?

Want more Ridiculous Wolfman news? The movie comes out in three weeks and they have just fired Paul Haslinger, who was brought on to replace Danny Elfman to score the movie. They are now bringing Elfman back in to rework his rejected score. This is just a joke of Keystone Kops levels.

** I really hope this movie proves my fears are wrong **

China boots Avatar from cinemas: China censors have ordered the 2-D version of Avatar pulled from screens across the country to reduce competition for homegrown films. This comes on the heels of Avatar setting a new Chinese box office record in only two weeks (500 million yuan). The 3-D and IMAX versions will be allowed to continue their run into February but Sunday marked the end of 2-D showings. Part of the reason for the elimination of the 2-D screenings is the subject matter of a forced eviction of people is a sensitive subject matter for the Chinese government. More likely though is the government's attempts to allow their state backed Chow Yun-fat biopic of Confucius, released last Thursday, to rein supreme. China is very protective of its domestic films and only allows 20 foreign made films into the Chinese market each year. Some ticket sales managers have encouraged people to see the movie now, even in 3-D, because when they are told to remove it, it will also be gone.

Fanboys are about to shit their underroos: George Lucas was so excited after seeing James Cameron's Avatar that he wants to go back and make his Star Wars trilogy in 3-D. This will be the second time that Lucas has tinkered with the original trilogy and released it back into theaters. I don't mind and thought, as I watched Avatar, of how cool it would have been to see Star Wars in 3-D. Now, I might get my chance but I am not looking forward to the massive amounts of Ridiculous comments about it from now until the endeavor is finished.

  • Cable TV getting television's best creator?: FX president John Landgraf was interviewed recently and stated that he has great respect for Joss Whedon and says he has a meeting scheduled with him in the next few weeks. Now, this may be about a number of things, but I tend to get excited when I see a chance of Whedon finally the opportunity to find success on television. He can get the same ratings on FX he gets on FOX and it will be seen as a success thanks to the network's more limited viewership. While Dollhouse is not the man's best work, it has been improving week by week and a network like FX is the perfect opportunity to give his ideas a chance. I mentioned a few weeks back Scy-Fy might have been enough to let some of his series live longer. I have not understood why Whedon remained loyal to network TV after they cut out his legs in the final season of Angel. I don't know if this meeting is to discuss bringing a Whedon series to the network that gave is The Shield, Rescue Me and Sons of Anarchy. I really, really, really hope this is the case.

Oh, Hell Yes!: Neal Patrick Harris, the child doctor who grew to be a God is nearing a deal to appear in the May sweeps episode of Glee - the one directed by Joss Whedon! Oh my God! Glee is already one of the best shows on TV but anything that gives me more Neal Patrick Harris singing and dancing is OK in my book.

The NFL Gods are smiling: It all started last week. While I turned off the Dallas/Minnesota divisional playoff game at the end of the third quarter in disgust, many fans did not. The game attracted 37.7 million viewers, the most watched program on all of television since last year's Super Bowl. The Jets/Chargers game, which saw the Jets upset the team many thought would be in the Super Bowl this year, drew 35.6 million viewers. Overall, the NFL drew an average of 33 million viewers to their four divisional playoff games. It couldn't get any better, right? Well, actually the Vikings/Saints NFC Championship game drew an amazing 28.3 rating as former Sooner Garrett Hartley kicked the Saints to the win. This helped FOX draw an estimated 52.21 million viewers for the night. Since FOX dropped off in the 10 p.m. hour, they only finished with a 27.6 rating. Compare that to CBS, who was second with a 4.3 rating. The NFL is destroying all competition right now. I can't imagine how great the ratings are going to be for the Super Bowl when the Saints make their first trip to the big game to play Peyton Manning and the Colts.

Push onto TV: I didn't mind Push too much when I saw it. In my original review, I compared it to the previous year's Jumper as a genre movie with great ideas but lacking a bit in execution. Unlike Jumper, there was actually a lot more I liked about Push and that might lead to a new television show. They are taking the mythology of Push and creating a pilot for a series to allegedly startup where the movie ended. That is something I really might get into and could prove to be a new replacement for the faltering Heroes franchise when it finally rides into the sunset.

More Chicken: Robot Chicken, in its fourth season at this time, has just been picked up for two more seasons (40 more episodes). This is awesome news for the very funny Seth Green and anyone who appreciates his sense of humor. Add to this his new show Titan Maximum is about to start and we might get Seth Green overload, a very good thing.

The best zombie comic ever gets adapted: This is some awesome news. If you have not read the comic The Walking Dead, go buy the first couple of graphic novels now and give it a chance. It is some great stuff. The story centers around the surviving members of humanity after a zombie outbreak decimates the world. What makes it, and any other zombie story great, is it cares more about the humans than about killing zombies. We see everything from a man trying to protect his son, a woman carrying a baby in the apocalyptic world and men who might be more evil then the zombies. The title is more about the figuratively "walking dead" humans than about the zombies themselves. Well, the comic has been optioned and green lit by AMC to be a TV series and it will be created by Frank Darabont. The fact that a lot of the early comics take place at a prison, with zombies always a constant risk to attack, is a perfect idea for the man behind both Shawshank Redemption and The Mist. AMC is the channel behind Breaking Bad and Mad Men so the story is in good hands. This is also a major Right because this is perfect for a serialized TV show, much more so than a movie. Let's see if maybe Preacher can finally make its way to TV now.

Spielberg is coming back to TV: Steven Spielberg, the man responsible for the awesome miniseries Band of Brothers has a new series coming to TNT. The show, still untitled, is a 10 episode alien-invasion series. The show begins shortly after the aliens have won the war and wiped out most of humanity. The aliens are now in the process of rounding up the remaining humans but find themselves in a battle with a group of soldiers and civilians fighting for survival. Noah Wyle (ER) plays a former college history professor and reluctant leader of one of the resistance groups. Also starring in a trio of hotness: Moon Bloodgood (Terminator: Salvation), Jessy Schram (Crash) and Seychelle Gabriel (Weeds). The show will debut sometime next year.

  • RIP: Robert Parker: Robert Parker, the novelist behind both the Spenser: For Hire and Jesse Stone novels died on January 19. It is telling the man died at his desk, while working on the latest Spenser novel. It was a sudden, unexpected death as he had just eaten breakfast with his wife, she went out for her morning walk and when she returned an hour later he was dead. A number of authors owe a lot to the writing style of this man and if you find time, check out one of the Jesse Stone TV movies based on his novels. The guy is one of my favorite authors and is a talent that will be missed.

  • The Ridiculous

  • More Conan/Jay Leno Crap: The settlement has been completed between NBC and Conan O'Brien. The good news is Conan is not going to be out for long as the stipulations state he will be allowed to return to the air elsewhere after September 1. However, from the looks of it the hope I had last week that he would keep his creations will not come true. It is being reported that NBC will retain ownership of all the "intellectual properties" that O'Brien created while working for them and he will lose it all when he finally finds a new home. That is just crap. At least he got $33 million and held out so his staff could get an extra $12.5 million (they all relocated from New York to California and are now unemployed).

    * thanks to AICN for finding these videos

Jersey Shore cast thinks they're worth something: The cast of Jersey Shore, the kids told not to go to bars because they get in too many fights, have told MTV they are holding out for more money in Season 2. MTV has the rights to the cast for another season but the kids are holding out anyway. MTV offered $5,000 an episode plus a $10,000 signing bonus but the cast said they are standing together and want more or they all walk. MTV countered with $10,000 an episode but nothing has been said since then. What is great is MTV says they will keep whoever accepts their offer and replace anyone who rejects it. Jersey Shore had a HUGE finale (4.8 million viewers) but MTV has had numerous shows that have rotated casts (The Real World) and I don't think the show would be hurt with new blood, eliminating some bad apples in the process. These brats think they are worth something and it's about time someone stood up to them and said enough is enough.

Last week, the comments were having a glitch so I did not answer any commenters. They are back up, so I will hit two week's worth of comments in one column.

What movie is that pic from of the guy with the glasses pointing at his head? - Posted By: Guest#3159 (Guest) - It is John Turturro from Barton Fink.

Making a Spider-Man without Raimi and Maguire is wrong on so many levels. The fans are not as stupid as the studio thinks. Doing a reboot now could destroy the franchise and flush the comic book movie blitz right down the toilet. - Posted By: Captain_America (Guest) - I agree. There is no way a movie so successful can be rebooted this soon after the last installment without mainstream fans wondering what the hell is going on. The third movie, as poorly received as it was critically, made $885 million worldwide three years ago. I don't understand the studios thinking.

I don't think it's homophobic to be upset at a character alteration (like turning Holmes gay), although it was clearly meant as a joke. The thing is-- if you own the rights to a character, you absolutely have the right to how you want them portrayed (unless you sign something agreeing otherwise). Many times Hollywood will rape a piece of art by trying to appeal to different demographics, and when a creator tries to maintain their original vision, they get blasted for "bigotry". "You know, this George Washington chap sure was the father of America, but just think how well it would play if we recast him as an African American woman with attitude who doesn't take no guff from nobody 'uh uh no British torries up in here!' " Supposedly "progressive" casting/story choices are often more insulting than just keeping a beloved character the same. - Posted By: Madcapunlimited (Guest) - I can agree with that, I just didn't like her way of wording how she is "not hostile to homosexuals." Plus, if she can't tell he was joking, she needs a serious humor transplant.

The rational for demanding changes and stifling Raimi's creativity is ridiculous. Why would the company be so adamant about changing a series that has done so well and been so well received (even the third one wasn't that bad)? This is just awful. And the Michael Bay rumors disgust me. I don't care what anyone says, Transformers was a mediocre movie. Tons of stimulation but zero re-watch value. - Posted By: guest guest (Guest) - Thank God those rumors ended quickly. It looks like it will be Marc Webb ((500) Days of Summer) taking Raimi's place. But I question how the movie will be handled with a young director and a studio intent on interfering in the story.

LOL! Kicking Raimi off Spiderman is one of the dumbest things ever. Next they'll replace Tobey with Freddie Prinze Junior. - Posted By: DW (Guest) - Or Michael Cera. Or McLovin.

spiderman 1 was great. spiderman 2 was not. while molina's doc oc performance was amazing, mary jane was awful. they should fire whomever does her wardrobe / makeup. she looked old, tired and haggard throughout. raimi did such a good job with the first movie that people tend not to realise that he doesn't understand spiderman in the slighest. want proof? 1. No 2. Spider 3. Banter. the thing that makes spiderman who he is, the outlet for the repressed mind of peter parker; allowing him to vent his frustration at his highschool / university bullies and stresses in his life onto his foes. it's one of, if not THE most endearing quality to fans, and raimi has it done once. when fighting fucking macho-man. not to mention in spidey 2 no one told tobey macguire that Spiderman is supposed to be a masked superhero lol. - Posted By: Guest#4210 (Guest) - I did miss the Spiderman one liners but Spider-Man 2 is one of the best superhero movies ever made.

Holy balls, a Wizard of Oz sequel?! Everybody and their mother knows it would be a piece of shit. However, if this thing does get made, at least it's a sequel and not an updated version of the original. - Posted By: Zingy (Guest) - While I don't like the sound of this sequel, there is another sequel in the works. The other one is animated, based on one of the actual original novels and features Dorothy returning to Oz. I am much more interested in that one.

Regarding the Barker horror films, there was another film produced between MMT and Dread, called The Book of Blood. It was adapted from 2 of Barkers stories from his short story collections (called the Books of Blood, of course). Just thought I'd let you in on it in case it had squeaked by you. - Posted By: YepYep (Guest) - I have heard about that. I definitely need to seek it out.

Out of curiosity are you criticising the Vatican for reviewing movies in a hypersensitive Christian way or are you upset because someone gave a bad review to a movie you like? As a Christian myself I tend to roll my eyes while other members of my faith blast a movie for being ungodly, which is nothing new and sadly gives the rest of us a bad name, but the criticisms listed do not seem to veer in that direction or in fact be unreasonable at all. It's a beautiful movie to watch on the big screen and I wouldn't give it a thumbs down but if you strip away the special effects the story itself is ok at the best of times (the first half) and bland at it's worst (the last half and the romance). Of course the quotes from the Vatican's review don't sound like a thumbs down to me, it just sounds like they are simply pointing out the movie's flaws in a reasonable and constructive way, something which other critics have rightfully pointed out. If they or anyone said the movie flat-out sucked then I would understand putting that comment in wrong because overall it's an enjoyable if flawed movie, but to put reasonable criticisms into wrong seems to come off as petty. - Posted By: Guest#7552 (Guest) - My problem is when Vatican radio blasted the movie for "winking at the pseudo-doctrines that have made ecology the religion of the millennium." I guess the problem they have with the movie is nature took care of its own instead of relying on God to help. That adds to my thoughts that the review in the L'Osservatore Romano is more about towing the line than being critically honest.

Now, on to last week's comments...

Shawn, Eric Overmyer is not one of the creators of The Wire, although he was a producer on the series beginning in season 4. The Wire was created by David Simon and Ed Burns - Ed's a former Baltimore City detective (and Baltimore City schoolteacher) who met David when he was still a reporter for the Baltimore Sun. Eric worked on the TV show Homicide: Life On The Streets, as did David - that's where they met up. And when George Pelecanos gave up his producing duties on The Wire to concentrate on a new novel, that's when they brought in Eric as a producer to take George's place. Just wanted to clarify, as both a lifelong Baltimorean and season 4 Wire extra (Eric actually wrote the episode I was in.) - Posted By: JeffS (Guest) on January 19, 2010 at 12:48 AM - It wasn't the first mistake I made in this column. Thanks for reading and congrats on being an extra on one of the best shows of the last decade!

Robertson fears Lealos! Posted By: The Great Capt. Smooth (Guest) - He probably thinks I am the devil, now...

How could the Globes miss Sons of Anarchy? That programme is a good replacement to the Wire. - Posted By: Don keyking (Guest) - Hell, I would have put SOA in over True Blood or House M.D.. The show is great.

Treme sounds life affirming lol. Can't wait till it starts - Posted By: McNutty (Guest) - I hope it's more than just life affirming, though, considering its Wire connections.

Fuck Spike Lee and his Levees! Sorry, but someone had to say it. - Posted By: BLACK (Guest) - Umm, ok you said it.

When Kimmel slammed Leno and talked about the cars and money, he actually said $800 million, not $8 million. - Posted By: Ryan (Guest) - Damn, you're right. That is a bit of a difference. I do not think it was a surprise to Leno though since the show is pre-recorded, right? They would have edited anything out that offended Leno.

You picked "Che" as your DVD of the week?! You do realize that Che was a brutal mass murderer right? Oh, but that's right, you probably think that Mao was a great guy too! And Mao killed between 13-17% MORE than Hitler during PEACE TIME! Good work retard! - Posted By: Spyke (Guest) - You are a very confused individual. I picked Che as my DVD release of the week, not as the humanitarian of the week. It is a movie, which is where I assume your confusion lies. Since you obviously have no idea what this "movie" is about, it chronicles the rise and fall of Che Guevara. My opinion of the film has nothing to do with my opinion of the man it is based on. But, thanks for reading anyway!

Or to put it another way

Wait a minute...the DVD is a brutal mass murderer? Everyone, PLEASE STOP BUYING AND WATCHING THE DVD. Once it is in your home it will murder you and your loved ones! Please listen to Spyke and don't be a retard! Or just grow up past the age of seven and stop confusing reality with entertainment. Posted By: The REAL MP (Guest) - Exactly.

You got any number of things wrong about Ghostbusters 3. For starters, the cast is not confirmed to return, though most of them have expressed interest (and likely literal wild horses couldn't keep Aykroyd away), and the Rick Moranis thing is totally rumor. I am betting against him even plopping down 11 bucks to see it. And Harold Ramis isn't "returning" as director. He didn't direct the first two, Ivan Reitman did. Reitman is going to return as director. Back to you, Woodward and Bernstein. - Posted By: Dr. Venkman (Guest) - Well damn, it is strange what one misplaced name can do to an entire story. It is Ivan Reitman who is returning to direct the third movie. And there are a number of sites now reporting that Moranis is returning. I am pretty sure it was Aykroyd who announced that. From what Reitman and Aykroyd have said, I don't think it is just rumors anymore. Weaver also said in a recent Empire interview that she has a script and she also mentioned everyone is coming back.

Tucker and Dale Vs. Evil sounded good, then I seen the trailer.. - Posted By: Propagandhi (Guest) - I thought the trailer looked funny, but I also really, really like Alan Tudyk.

Shawn: You do know Harold Ramis directed Year One too? - Posted By: KC (Guest) - Yeah. Thank God he isn't directing the new Ghostbusters movie.

It's quite surprising how stupid some people can get. My dad watches a pastor that refers to Jupiter as "one of satan's little planets" and says that anyone who smokes marijuana is a sorcerer. - Posted By: the danger stranger (Guest) - Yep. Old people scare me.

The first Spiderman was set in highschool. - Posted By: Anthony (Guest) - No, actually it started with him in high school when he got bit but he never became Spider-Man until after graduation. The new movie is going to explore what it is like to be a superhero in high school, unlike the first movie.

That Piranha 3-D pic made me spit out my chicken that I was enjoying while reading your column. And Stallone gave an interview saying he would like to do a trilogy to The Expendables. Here's hoping... - Posted By: stevethegoose (Registered) - Sorry about your chicken! And any new Expendables movies need to add more action stars like Wesley Snipes, Action Freaking Jackson, Brian Bosworth and Dean Cain.

I actually don't mind the Jersey Shore kids holding out. Don't get me wrong, they're stupid and shallow, but people want to watch them. That translates into advertising $$, and since they're bringing in money, what's wrong with them wanting a share? Like it or not, they are responsible for an hour of television entertainment a week, no different than any actor, or writer. The season run was only ten episodes, so the initial offer of $60,000 is nothing compared to what they bring in for MTV.

It would have been more right if the title of Bruce's next movie was Bruce vs. the Army of Darkness 2. You know i'm right!

Seriously, Joss Whedon is tv's greatest creator? He had ONE hit show ten years ago, and that was a cult hit at best. And people love to blame Fox for Firefly and Dollhouse getting cancelled yet they ignore the fact that NO ONE WATCHED THEM. Serenity bombed, Alien Resurrection's script was horrible...why is this hack still getting work?

Don't do it, Shawn! I've seen Books of Blood and it was most boring piece of crap I've seen in recent memory.

One hit show huh? Yeah, okay-- I guess Angel never matched/surpassed Buffy in your eyes Guest 3471.

Serenity was a failure? Funny, because very few people I know of have bad things to say about it.

Nobody watched Dollhouse? That's funny... considering how it actually did damn well for a show that never had its pilot aired, was not heavily promoted at all and aired at 9 pm on a Friday... but yeah, you're right: it's the shows fault.

Firefly got even more screwed than Dollhouse (and, honestly, Firefly is VASTLY superior to Dollhouse, probably second only to Angel in terms of pure awesomeness of Whedon creations).

SO the Jersay Shore kids get rewarded for acting the way they do? Maybe thats why kids today dont give a shit about anything.

I'm all for Spider-Man films but they lost me when they said it will be about Peter Parker. No one cares about Parker, they want to see the hero. We got enough of Peter Parker in the previous three movies anyway. Hopefully they change their minds because a hero fighting the villain is what people want to see.

Che Guevara's a brutal mass murderer? Seriously, you Americans need some proper schooling. Dude's no more of a mass murderer than George Washington.

What's with this NPH love all the cool kids seem to be displaying? Don't get me wrong, I like the guy, and his part in the Harold & Kumar movies was great (the only redeeming quality in that pile of shit sequel) but I don't understand where the cult-love derived from.

The biggest problem as it has been said before with rebooting spiderman is that it is tooo soon. That would be like going back an rebooting the Harry Potter movies and saying you wanted to show the parts of the books that weren't included in the films WTF.

A true reboot leaves enough time for people to wonder about, start asking "what happened to..?" or I "wonder if they will ever..." This reboot at this time no one is asking that question they are more like what will happen next in the series. This is not a good idea at all and if they want further proof how about when they ended the animated series of spiderman a few years back...they tried to come out with the new ultimate spiderman version and that never took. People were still thinking about the animated series that came before it. The most recent cartoon series even took a stab at his high school to college years and that struggled initially. They needed a conintuation not a reboot. The natural progression to even replace Peter would be recasting someone that might seem a little older and finished with College thats about it. Most studios seeing the money that the third one made would milk this particular franchise until such time has past to start it over.

But good luck with that seeing is believing, so will see if this gamble pays off but they will have to take it up the ass if this movie doesnt make nearly as much as any of the three predecessors

Hey making a superhero movie with not much action is a great idea! Remember when they rebooted that other guy, and it had no action and no superpowered villian. That did gangbusters!

I hope the next spidermen movie falls on its ass,if only for the fact that if its a hit we will see other superhero revamps with no action but plenty of teen angst. We fans want Spiderman. Not my so called life starring Peter Parker

I'd rather have Bubba Ho-Tep vs. Frankenstein.

While A Maleficent might be cool, I think a movie from Cinderella's evil stepmom/daughters POV would rock would be more interestig.

I want Gremlins 3D. We need more Gizmo.

Has a movie with so many problems that Wolfman has had ever been good? I hope I'm wrong but my enthusiasm for it is quickly waning.
