Jessica Biel takes on Kate Beckinsale in Vs, Mark Wahlberg wants to become Iron Man, Alan Taylor talks Thor: The Dark World, Lindsay Lohan starts her comeback, Sofia Vergara is your "& 1" Model of the Week and more!
A WORD FROM STEVE...
Welcome back! How was your week? We're back for another week of hot women, the biggest Hollywood news, and some celebrity gossip! For some additional reading you can check out my interview with Playboy's Miss August, Val Keil! Then peep my interview with one of the coolest dudes in Hollywood Ari Gold! Want more? OK. Read my review for American Courtesans! Still not enough? Take your pick between my Comics 411 or my Big Screen Bulletin!
From time to time I come across a cool Kickstarter project that captures my interest. Like this one. It's a comic that's an update of the classic Robin Hood legend, adapting the story to modern times, where the outlaw steals medical supplies and gives them to those in need. Definitely something that reflects on the current healthcare scenario in the U.S..
Alright, who's greeting us this week? It's none other than...Eva Marie! "But, but, but Steve! She's a wrestler! She belongs in the wrestling section!" Wrong! Any hot female is open game in my book! Plus, she's all over the Maxim website.
Last week I pitted two insanely hot females against one another. Their names: Lucy Pinder and Emily Ratajkowski. Here are the results:
Lucy Pinder 76.43%
Emily Ratajkowski 23.57%
You break my heart. Lucy pulls away easily and overcomes the beautiful Emily. The talented Wyatt Beougher said it best: "This was seriously the most difficult VS ever, Goose. Lucy Pinder might just be the perfect woman, but if she isn't, then Emily Ratajkowski is (and if you don't believe me, watch the uncensored video for Robin Thicke's "Blurred Lines" - I'm confident that it will change your opinion)." Amen. Emily has been our "& 1" Model of the Week and greeted us at the start of the column. I don't have anywhere else I can put her in the column so we'll have to retire her for a while. Unless she does something TMZ-worthy.
I came across a picture from a year ago that contained both Kate Beckinsale and Jessica Biel. After analyzing it for a few minutes I decided that was good enought to place them both in VS!
Kate Beckinsale VS Jessica Biel
PIC OF THE WEEK!
Two pics for you this week. First, Bryan Singer has revealed a new image from the set of X-Men: Days of Future Past on Twitter, which shows a sort of mutant exhibit. He wrote "artifacts". The items appear to be Havok's costume, Magneto's helmet, and Angel Salvadore's wings.
The film will be released on May 23, 2014. It stars Hugh Jackman, Ian McKellen, Patrick Stewart, James McAvoy, Jennifer Lawrence, Michael Fassbender, Nicholas Hoult, Anna Paquin, Ellen Page, Shawn Ashmore, Peter Dinklage, Omar Sy, Halle Berry, Daniel Cudmore, Fan Bingbing, Boo Boo Stewart, Adan Canto, Evan Peters, Josh Helman and Lucas Till.
Another one from our good friend AJ Grey. I'm not sure if you heard or not but AJ was nominated for a Nobel Peace Prize for the work he does in distracting men with pictures of beautiful women. I believe he's on to something and hope he continues his charitable work. God bless you, Mr. Grey. Oh, and bless Claudia Romani for providing us with this moment.
WHAT THE HELL?
During a recent interview with Yahoo, Mark Wahlberg was asked about being in a comic book franchise film. Wahlberg noted that he likes to play characters he can relate to and are grounded in reality, but would love to take over for Robert Downey, Jr. in the Iron Man franchise. He did note that he has never been approached, and then joked about dodging a bullet because he had been recruited to play Robin in the Joel SchumacherBatman films.
What do you think? Mark as Iron Man?

Desde Hollywood interviewed Thor: The Dark World director Alan Taylor at D23 last week. Below are some highlights:
Taylor on balancing fantasy with sci-fi: "One of my favorite lines in the first movie was [when] Thor says to Jane 'there's magic and there's science and I come from a land where they're one in the same.' It's a great way of [explaining] that challenge [of balancing science fiction]. And it means the movie lives in a kind of middle ground - we have spaceships, we have laser guns, we have interplanetary travel. We also have horses, swords, and castles. If you get that wrong the whole falls apart and you laugh. If you get it right, it has the power of both and becomes unique in a way. I'm thinking we got it right, I'm hoping we got it right. But there are moments when there's a guy with a sword fighting a guy with a laser rifle and you think 'is this really gonna make sense; can these things really be in the same movie together. And I think there's a trick to it."
Taylor on not being a fan of fantasy before Game of Thrones: "I was never a fantasy fan, but then I started doing Game of Thrones and the things that made me love it were whatever the trappings of the world were, you were always rooted in the character you cared about. And the thing you were seeing felt real. And that's the same quality I'd hope to get [with Thor: The Dark World]. If we're going to Asgard, it should really feel like a place. If we're going to the Dark World of the Dark elves it should feel like an actual landscape and planet and the people that you're dealing with should sweat and bleed. So hopefully we grounded [the movie] despite there being two of the most pretend genres mashed together."
He also spoke to Collider and revealed that more scenes with Loki are being added to the film.
According to Taylor, the production is now in the process of "plussing" the movie, with "new scenes being added even now." Taylor stated: "We're doing full scenes, scenes that were not in the movie before. We're adding scenes, creating scenes, writing scenes for the first time... We realized how well Loki was working in the movie and we wanted to do more with him. So it was that kind of thing, it was like, 'Oh, we could do this, we could jam this in here,' because he's such a wonderful guy to watch do his stuff."
He added on Marvel Studios: "They will work down to the wire. [Marvel Studios head] Kevin Feige's always trying to make the film better, see if he can push it up. I saw them do this on Iron Man 3, I saw them do it on Avengers; they have to kind of pry it out of Marvel's hands and put it up on screens because he never wants to stop improving things, so that's the phase we're in right now."
What's your excitement level for Thor?
How about some Beta Ray Bill?
Let Your Hate Flow...
This report comes from Latino Review. The site is reporting that they have details on how Ian McDiarmid will return as Palpatine in Star Wars: Episode VII. The site claims that Palpatine will return not as a clone the same way he has done in the Expanded Universe, but as a Force Ghost. He would not be the first Dark Side-oriented character in the universe to have done so; many Sith have managed to cheat death through the method and existed for centuries or more afterward.
The site claims that film will retcon events and give Palpatine a new apprentice that he was training just before he was killed by Vader. Palpatine will come back as a mentor for this other Sith apprentice, who will be a villain (and possibly the primary villain) of the new film.
This would be a change of philosophy from the films and Expanded Universe. Palpatine always adhered to Darth Bane's "One Master/One Apprentice" philosophy established many years before the events of even Episode I. The source also said things like "Why bring the emperor back to life? That would just be stupid as all hell," which doesn't seem quite like a legit source speaking. And as a final caveat, the Episode VII script is still in the works by all accounts, though this doesn't mean that the information wasn't legit in early treatments.
The One Master/One Apprentice was kinda dumb anyways.
Bruce! Bruce Willis spoke with the Mirror and said that working in the action genre is not particularly exciting for him, but that they earn him the best money.
Honesty the best policy?
"Explosions are one of the most boring parts of my job," Willis said. "When you have seen a few fireballs, its not exciting anymore. I know part of my audience enjoys the explosions, but to be honest, I'm a bit bored of it now...I am very clear with who I am. I work in all sorts of films, but the action movies are the ones that generate the most revenue. I like to earn lots of money from those, but I do all types: small productions, mega-projects, medium sized, even science fiction."
Last week Willis was dropped from The Expendables 3 after he wanted $4 million for four days of work. Sylvester Stallone then called him "lazy" and "greedy."
Is Bruce losing a step?
Does this mean no more Die Hard's? What about Bruno?
Oh, Lindsay! Lindsay Lohan wrapped her 90-day stint in rehab on July 30, and she's reportedly serious about staying sober this time around and throwing herself into her work to keep busy. On Tuesday, the actress shared a selfie on Instagram and captioned it "#back@work! So grateful today! :)"
Lohan went right back to work when she guest-hosted Chelsea Lately almost as soon as she left treatment at Cliffside Malibu. She's filming a docu-series for Oprah Winfrey's OWN network that will air in 2014 and TMZ is reporting that Lohan will have a guest role on the final season of Eastbound & Down. She will play Kenny Powers's (Danny McBride) illegitimate daughter in the series finale, which is currently filming in North Carolina.
The comeback kid?
What's the VIDEO BUZZ?
Yahoo! Movies has a new trailer available for Don Jon, the directorial debut for Joseph Gordon-Levitt. The movie is due in theaters on September 27.
What do you think?
Welcome back to the & 1 Model of the Week! I'm going to use this area to introduce a lovely young lady that you might not be familiar with. This week our & 1 Model is ...Sofia Vergara! Why Sofia? Why not? Plus, her "threesome" interview has tongues wagging. She's been doing publicity for Fading Gigolo" and getting lots of attention. The movie is an official selection for the 2013 Toronto Film Festival and the comedy has received plenty of buzz since the trailer's release on Tuesday. Thanks to Sofía and Sharon Stone's search for a passionate ménage à trois.
In Fading Gigolo," Murray (Woody Allen) plays a broke bookseller who convinces his friend Fioravante (John Turturro, who also wrote and directed the film) to make some money by becoming a male prostitute. The movie is set in Manhattan and the trailer is filled with Allen's one-liners and some very seductive clients, including Selima (Vergara).
The Colombian actress plays a woman looking to shake things up with Fioravante and Dr. Parker (Stone), even confessing: "I like it rough. Sometimes I even like to be the man, just strap on my gun." Things heat up with a shot of Vergara and Stone's characters in lacy lingerie awaiting for their gigolo to join in on the anticipated threesome.
Ladies and Gentlemen, I presentů Sofia Vergara!
Before I say GOODBYE!
